36 Come. This way. Daemi stumbled forward, the words pulling her on into the dark. She had left Frankle with Heather, somewhere near the entrance to this tunnel, unable to resist the call any longer. The ground seemed to slope downward, tipping her into the darkness ahead. She could no longer make out the shape of the cat in front of her, no longer see even a flash of movement within the shadows to mark its passing. She was alone again. Alone in the dark.
