Chapter 12

1060 Words

Tyler’s POV Alexis was still slumped in the chair I’d just freed her from, too weak to stand, her legs trembling when she tried. I stayed planted between her and Cole, the ropes I’d cut lying limp on the ground. Her shallow breaths brushed the back of my neck—uneven, scared, and still trying to catch up after whatever they’d done to her. Cole’s words—Your blood is ours—hung in the air like a challenge carved in stone. My jaw locked. I held my fist visibly high to their view. Cole tilted his head, the faintest smirk tugging at his lips. “You really think you can walk out of here, Tyler?” I didn’t blink.“You’re no match for me,” I said evenly, my voice low, almost casual, but with the kind of weight that made the nearest man shift uneasily. Cole’s grin twitched into something sharper.
