Elizabeth kept watching over Alex all night. She saw a machine taking his blood in and filtering it, removing toxic blood, replacing with donor blood, and returning it to his body. He was restless in his sleep. He would go into paranoid sweats and even thrash around, the only thing that would calm him was when she laid her head on his chest. At one point she returned from the bathroom to him yelling in his sleep, "I am so sorry, I don't know why I didn't listen to you, please forgive me. Please." She ran over and held him until he was quiet again.
