29 Flynn Hiking downriver would have been safer with the rain we’d had, but the canoe promised to get us away from Pa faster and without leaving tracks. Once he woke up—if he ever did—he would find the canoe gone and figure out where we headed. At least we would have a full two days before he’d catch up to us.
