“DAISY, NO!” Noah and Hunter cried out simultaneously. As if he were watching the scene unfold before him in slow motion, Noah watched as Daisy fell backwards, and Hunter lurched forward to catch her in his arms. Shaking uncontrollably, Hunter pulled the dagger from her hands, but it was too late.
