When Hunter opened his eyes, he was surprised to find that he was outside, with the sun boring brightly directly overhead. How long have I been out? He raised his hand above his head to shield his eyes from the harsh sunlight. Sitting up slowly, he realized his back was sore from hitting the ground so hard. A low groan rumbled in his chest as he winced. Blinking around, he saw that he was in the middle of an unfamiliar landscape. Small, brown hills surrounded them, with larger mountains off in the distance. Spindly, light green bushes and dried patches of grass dotted the dusty, tan terrain underneath a pale blue expanse of sky. A pleasant, cool breeze rustled through his hair and against his cheeks.
