The loud thud of the closed door felt so final in that moment. Daisy cursed herself for allowing her guard to be let down around Hunter the night before, and yet, somehow, she felt her chest tighten at the idea that she had pushed him away. How was she able to hurt him so easily like that? She hated seeing the pain in his eyes at her words, and yet, she had continued, unrelenting. She leaned against the wall of the bathroom, closing her eyes and clutching the towel to her heart. Last night was incredible.
