Christina's POV
Looking around this is perfect! An old warehouse. Left to rust away just like every other building around here. Ripping off the lock that was on the side door I made my way in. My gun in my hands I cased around the whole building. The lower half has a garage that is large enough to fit a several trucks probably used to fix cars when the building was still functioning. Walking around I see tools, benches, some old parts, and then a winding staircase. Slowly I make my way up the stair case and find a room that was maybe used as an office although its too big. Anyway there is a bathroom in the corner and then windows that look off into the workshop. Perfect for just little old me... no one is around.
First things first... Escape, I walked around the whole apartment and found the fire escape, the window is a little sticky but we can just keep that open. I pulled my body through the window and I first went up it didn't take long for me to reach the roof I look the the North and there was another building perfect jumping distance. Over to the East was the ladder, but just beyond that was an abandoned warehouse... Might come in handy later. South of me was the front of the building so there was no way of escape. West is a river which means that is a the best way to escape if something was to go horribly wrong. At least for now there is 3 out of 4 ways of escape from the roof access.
I walked over to the fire escape and I climbed all the way down to the ground. This lead to an ally way which if I went one way would just give who ever shows up a way to block me in quickly. Walking down to the other end I see a maze of allies which means if I memorize it I can trick them. I know this is a quick look but its better to know now then waking up with a blade to my throat and have no escape planned. Slipping my way back into the garage I look around and take a deep breath.
My name is Christina and for as long as I can remember I have always been on the run. To certain people I am a diamond in the rough and for me that makes my life very hard. I am 18 years old and have never known the love and trust of a friend or family. I was born into the foster system, and every house I was in treated me like s**t. It wasn't until I was 7 years old when I realized I was completely different from other kids. I had super strength, super hearing, super speed, and during a full moon I would sometimes glow. Learning about this my foster family sold me off thinking they would get some huge chunk of change but little did they know it would be their last mistake.
During my time with these people they tortured me, showed me things that no 7 year old should see, and then I learned that humans aren't alone. There was vampires, witches and werewolves which according to them I was a secret that was going to lead them to the ultimate treasure. However, I didn't stay around long enough to know what that was cause I slipped out and ran for my dear life.
Even if I plan to make this place a home I still need to be extra careful, but enough about my sad story... how about we think about the present. Since I have always been on the run I've never gone to school and since I was 17 years old I thought it would be about time to stop taking online classes and maybe go to an actual school. I know that is a huge risk but I want to be around people my own age and learn how to be a normal kid. This garage is only a couple miles away from the best high school in the nation, the academics are off the charts, the sports are rumored to be the best, and the students look nice on the website. So this is a fresh start to a new life, but baby steps and step one is cleaning out the garage to make it my new home.
While on the run I have only one thing I truly care about and that is a my motorcycle a Suzuki Hayabusa which yes is long but can reach up to 248 mph so that quick get away just got quicker. I slide the garage door open and I roll my motorcycle in, this place is perfect cause at least I now have some tools I can use to fix up beauty... yes thats her name. Closing the door I take a deep breath and look around... this is going to take a lot of work.
