Kade rubbed at his gritty eyes and bit back the yawn that threatened to dislocate his jaw from the rest of his face. Fatigue clawed at him like an insistent itch under his skin. His neck was stiff from spending long hours seated in the hospital chair next to Aleah’s bed. His eyelids felt as though they had quadrupled in weight. He wanted desperately to close his eyes and sleep, but Kade couldn’t do that. Not even the knowledge that Logan and his pals were arrested calmed Kade’s overprotective instincts.
