“What did you eat beforehand?“,Abiodun asks Abisola who curls up in a ball on the couch.
“The same thing everyone else ate, jollof rice”,Abeke replies.
“That’s all you ate?“,he asks Abisola who doesn’t reply.
“Ola. What did you eat?“,he repeats.
“Chocolate”,she whispers.
“What type?“.
She sticks her hand in her pyjama pocket and takes out a folded wrapper which he takes.
“Nuts? You’re allergic to nuts. Where did you get this chocolate from?“, he asks.
“From Idrees”.
“Idrees?“.
“He gave it to you?“,I ask her.
She nods then hugs her waist while rocking back and forth.
I shake my head then look over at Idrees who raises an eyebrow.
“How was I supposed to know that she was allergic”.
