Chapter 1

It started with a choice.

One that would change my life forever.

It started one day when I sat thinking about all my choices I've made until then. How life led me to this point. Alone with no intention of ever giving my heart to anyone again.

A ping on my phone told me I had a notification.

I had a new like on the dating app I had downloaded. I had downloaded it a week prior and only had the courage to set up a profile 3days after that.

I hadn't been on since then. I'd liked a few profiles but went on with my day. I picked up my phone and went to the app.

To my surprise one of the profiles I liked liked me back. When I saw the picture I was mesmerized. It was the most handsome man I've ever laid my eyes on he donned a blue button up check shirt his hair a sun kissed shade of brown and his eyes the most amazing shade of green I've ever seen.

I had lingered on this particular profile for a while before I liked it. And now he had liked me back.

I contemplated if I should be the one to make the first contact and my will to be patient broke and I sent a message first.

Once I hit send I continued on with work.

Being an accounts receivable controller was no joke. Pressure was intense and our company being short staffed they needed all the help they could get.

I was in the middle of a report that was due when my phone pinged once more.

I had a response to my first message.
