A guard had informed me that Denis sought an audience with me. Normally, we met discretely, without a third party being aware of our meeting. But now that he threw caution to the wind by involving a guard, there could be only one explanation; he was angry about something.
I paced around the room, biting my lips, in a bid to contain my nervousness, I didn’t know when I began to count the marbles on the wall. I had counted to one-fifty when the door opened, revealing a very angry Denis.
“Have you lost your mind, Tia,” he fumed. “Do you forget your place so soon? You’re only here because my mother made it possible. You would have never dreamed of becoming a Luna of this pack, if not for my mother and I, so don’t you—“
