Dimitri lit another cigarette after the meeting had finished. Every year the nine families of the Triad circle came together to discuss their plans, actions, and how they should distribute wealth. Or at least that's the official reason. He knew that it was more of a pissing match on who was the most powerful. It was something he hated having to come to. Especially when his son was being born right this moment.
He still didn't have concrete proof that it was his, but he now felt confident that it was. After his Hex nearly knocked his lights out, he had Amir follow her. He knew everything about her now. From who her family was, to the friends she had, to where she worked and the doctors she saw. He also knew that not once did she ever have a man besides her brother or father come visit her at her home and she never stayed out late even when she was with friends.
Many of the whores who tried to pull this game with him often couldn't wait to sheath their p***y with another d**k as soon as he dismissed them. Hex hadn't so much looked at another man. Well...that was until she started working at that ugly little shop. By then she was a good 5 months along and he knew she hadn’t known the guy prior.
Keith O'Connell was nothing to gawk at so it puzzled the hell out of him as to what she saw in him. The guy barely made ends meet with his stupid hobby store and he would never be able to take care of her and a baby. His baby. The more he thought about how Hex glowed at the man and how she might want him to be a father to their baby infuriated him. If he hadn't been stuck in Hong Kong for the last two months, he would have made sure the little faggot knew his place.
His phone rang and he saw that it was Sven. He answered it knowing he was in the hospital. Though he was hiding his presence because Hex had been very vocal about her wanting to keep not only him away, but anyone to do with Dimitri. "Sample has been taken. Shauna should have results for you within a few hours. Kid looks Asian enough."
He was referring to the cheek swab they collected from the infant. Dimitri had sent them his own swab a few days ago to keep on file for this very moment. Shauna was one of the nurses on his payroll. Being in the mafia, they needed professional hands to work on them without the bother of cops getting involved.
"Good. How is she?"
Sven scowled and mumbled something in Russian that he couldn't quite catch. "There were complications apparently. She had to be sedated, but overall she seems to be fine. That svoloch' hasn't left her side. I wish you'd let me take care of him for you. I don't like how he looks at your woman."
Dimitri smiled and he knew it wasn't a nice one. "That honor will be mine, Sven. I don't know how long my father expects me to stay here, but if I can tell him the news that he's a grandfather, I'm sure he'll pardon my absence."
"This for sure is your kid, Dimitri. No woman would work this hard to keep a man away if he wasn't the father." Sven mumbled. Dimitri knew that Sven didn't like the idea of women and he knew that it bothered the big guy to have one try to run from him. Though he didn't know why.
"It's not entirely her fault. I was pretty...unkind to her. I'm sure it's going to take a bit of charm to get her to open back up to me." Dimitri leaned down on his elbows over the glass balcony looking over the colorful lights of the city.
"Did you really call her a w***e?" Sven chuckled.
Dimitri's brows shot up at that. "She said I called her a w***e?"
"Twice." Sven was almost laughing now.
"The words never left my mouth...though the ones that did may have been misconstrued to sound like that." He admitted.
"She really hates you, you know?"
Dimitri sighed. "That's a first. I have hoards of thirsty ass hoes ready to jump on my d**k and the one I want hates my ever loving guts."
Sven laughed again and Dimitri realized this was the most he had ever heard the big man do it. "Your luck had to end at some point boss."
Maybe for now, but Dimitri always got what he wanted. Always.
