Prologue

RAMI POV
“Daddy!!! Mummy!!! Am home!!!!”
“In the kitchen!!!!”
I heard the voice of my daddy.
I happily ran to the kitchen to see my parents.
The moment I entered, I stopped and covered my eyes with my hands.
“Ewww daddy. Can you stop touching mummy like that. It’s so disgusting.” I complained.
Although I am eighteen years old and generally known as an adult, that doesn’t mean I want to see my daddy pressing my mother’s ass in public for crying out loud.
They always acted like the best couple, always romantic, so in love, just like teenagers although they are full grown adults.
They do this every day, yet I still get the cringe when I watch them.
I can’t get used to it.
“Rami I thought you always wanted a younger sibling?” my dad asked, smiling at me.
“I wanted that several years ago, but you failed to give me one. Right now, I have accepted my fate and don’t want to have any sibling any longer.” I rolled my eyes.
“Such a cranky child. I wonder who you got it from?” my dad said, thinking.
And he got the response he was looking for because my mum immediately hit him.
“Shut up and go and sit down over there.” She ordered.
Although my dad is the head of the house, when it comes to my mother, he always listens to her and submits to her, especially when she is upset.
I watched as he quietly left her and went to sit down in the living room.
“Mummy you shouldn’t be harsh on him. You know he is still your baby.” I tried to speak for my father.
“I knew you were going to say something. Always supporting your father. Now go join him.” she frowned.
I happily went to the living room and sat down with my dad.
“Let me guess, she drove you out too?” He smiled, looking so happy to see me.
“She did. It’s just you and I now. Before I forget daddy, I have good news for you.” I smiled.
“What is this good news that has gotten you so excited since you came in?” he asked.
That’s my daddy, always knowing everything, even to the smallest things about me.
I can’t hide my feelings from my parents because they sense it faster than I even expect.
They know my happy days, my sad moments, almost everything, and they always support me full time.
This is what keeps us as a healthy family all these years.
I pulled a brown envelope from my bag and gave it to him.
“Read what is in there.” I said, beaming with so much excitement.
He raised a brow up but still opened the envelope to check what it was.
I waited as my heart beat so fast as he read the letter which was in the envelope.
His face changed from shock to happiness.
“You got admission?” he shouted.
I nodded, smiling so happily.
“Of course I did!!!!! Your daughter just got admission into university.” I screamed happily.
He pulled me in for a hug, and we both screamed together.
“WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE? WHY THE NOISE?”
We stopped and turned at the same time to look at my mum, who was frowning with a big spoon in her hand.
My daddy jumped and ran to her.
“Sweetheart look, your daughter has made us proud once again. She just got admission into the university.” he said as he showed her the letter.
Within seconds, the spoon she was holding was now laying on the ground while she and my daddy were hugging themselves jumping together.
I watched them as they celebrated together, forgetting that I was right there.
“Hello you guys. In case you have forgotten, I am the one you should be jubilating with because I was the one who got the admission and not you both.” I reminded them.
They instantly stopped and looked at me.
“Oh we didn’t forget. Come here, my darling.” my mummy said
I smiled and joined them to celebrate.
We jumped and screamed together like little kids playing on a playground.
But we were just one happy family.
“This calls for a party. I need to bake a cake right now. Then prepare a lot of food. Do we invite people to celebrate with us , or should it just be us?”
My mummy asked with a smile on her face.
“No mummy, I want to have a nice moment with just you and Daddy. I only want my parents to celebrate with me. No strangers, please.”
I beg.
“If that is what you want, then we will celebrate just us.” My mummy smiled.
“And I will buy a wine.” My dad also said.
As they were moving around, I heard the sound of the door knocking.
“Yes I am coming.” I shouted before running to open the door.
As I opened it, I faced quite a number of guards.
“Step aside, young lady.”
One of them pushed me roughly before they entered one after the other.
They began to destroy things and raised their voices.
With fear in my heart, I watched as they confronted my father, who was standing in front of my mother to shield her.
The bad men all grabbed my parents and began to walk out.
“Stop. Where are you taking my parents too? They did nothing wrong.” I cried as I tried to stop them.
“Shut your mouth, you little brat.” one of them shouted at him.
Both my mother and father growled at him at the same time.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice or insult my daughter ever again.” My dad said angrily.
My mummy turned to look at me with a sad look in her eyes.
“Rami, be a good girl and stay here. Mummy and Daddy will be back soon.” she said to me.
“Promise me that you will be back.” I cried as my chest began to hurt so badly. I couldn’t shake this eerie feeling off.
“We promise you that we will be back.” she smiled.
“I will wait for you both then.” I cried out.
“Mummy and Daddy love you, okay.” she said softly.
“I love you both so much.”
That was the last thing I said to them before they were dragged out of the house.
Just as I promised, I waited for them but they didn’t fulfil their promise to me.
They never came back, and they will never come back.
The last time I saw my parents was when they were executed right in front of my eyes and in front of everyone.
They were both killed for a crime they never committed. And this is all because of the people I have now grown deep hatred for.
The Alpha and his family.
I will never forgive them for what they have done. I will never forgive them for changing my life and taking the only people I love away from me.
I can never forgive them.
I, Rami, will one day make them pay and clear my parents name.
They should all wait and see.
