Hailey Nyx Jaden   The training of the human dragons started right after Kathy and I talked, we decided to practice on our own when it's not their turn yet and came back before Draven gets to do his turn.   The human dragon training was all about creating a strong barrier and how to change into their dragon form before possessing their mate’s body. That’s how they can pass down their powers to us using the possession. That's why the rituals are so important, it's how we connect most especially our bonds as warriors and human dragons.   For now, our professor focused on teaching creating a barrier since this is what's really important most especially when we're going to fight on battles.   "Draven Woods, front and center!" our professor called, so Draven immediately positioned himself. He took in a deep breath a tried to summon a barrier.   He looks like he's still having a hard time wielding it very long, but he managed to create it in 10 seconds.   "He looks so cool!" I heard Kathy muffled an inaudible scream, so I just chuckled and went to watch again because it's already Ash's turn.   "Very good Draven, try practicing to wield it longer," the professor said, so Draven just nodded.   "Ash Flynn Lux, front and center!" the professor called, so Ash immediately positioned himself in front.   "Ah, it's the student who wields the barrier perfectly, let's see what you got," the professor sounded like he's challenging Ash, so he just nodded.   He firmly stands on the ground before closing his eyes, he motioned his toned arms up with his hands in a tight grip, after he lifted his arms, he opened his large hands and suddenly lights surrounded him, creating a circle barrier from around him.   It was transparent and intact, the professor tried to fire something at him, but it didn't break.   Everyone was astounded upon seeing him do that, some applauded and the professor was out of words, he remained in that position until the professor went after him telling him that he can finally cast out his barrier.   "Fantastic performance! Tell me, how did you train for the past years?" my professor asked, so Ash looks like he's thinking deeply again.   "Um well, I think you should all just train hard and it's important to focus on what and who you really want to protect, I've been doing that for a thousand years I guess?" he said, he looks like he's still trying to think about it which made me wonder. Thousand years? What does he mean about that?   The professor and even our classmates believed him maybe because they thought it was just a metaphor but I think there's a deep meaning in those words and I will ask him about that later on too.   When Ash was finally done he was about to go towards me some students from the other section suddenly appeared out of nowhere.   "Where is the maiden called Hailey Nyx Jaden?" a woman with black lipstick called, so the eyes of my classmates immediately went to my gaze making me sigh.   She looked at me and smirk after seeing my well-being I don't know if she's mocking me or what, but she really looks scary. She has lots of piercing on her nose, ears, and mouth. Her hair almost looked like a mohawk and her aura looks really dark maybe because of her makeup.   She has company, a man with almost the same look as her and two other couple that looks bored on what is happening.   "Excuse me Ms. Cartel but I believe that you do not belong to this class," the professor said, so she narrowed her eyes at him like she's annoyed.   "Get lost old man, we're having a challenge here right now to prove that I'm still number one," she muttered which made me really confused. Okay...What the hell is happening? Ever since that strange thing happened the other day students seem to have a great interest in me.   "Nyx.." I immediately eyed Kathy who looks really nervous while looking at that rocker girl and her friends.   "Why? Do you know her?" I asked, so she just nodded while trying to compose herself like she's scared, she looks so tensed.   "That's Freya Cartel, she's the number one student Warrior here in our University, she's really strong and I've heard she sent many students on the infirmary because of her skills...She's bad news!" she whispered, which made me really confused.   "R-Really? Then why is she looking for me? I didn't challenge her or anything...I don't even know her until you told me," I curiously asked, so Kathy just sighed nervously.   "She must've heard the rumors about you, about your performance yesterday...if she heard that someone is better than her, then she will pop out everywhere just to challenge them!" she said, which made me groaned.   "But I didn't do anything special! It was Ash who saved me from that fireball!" I muttered frustratedly before glancing at that girl again. She's just smirking at me and some of our classmates we're sacred and happy to see her at the same time.   "Are you ready to challenge me Ms. Jaden?" the rocker scary girl asked, but I didn't say anything. I don't want to fight other students unless it's about class improvement or our professor told us so.   "No, I won't allow it," Ash suddenly appeared at my front blocking me from their sight. I narrowed my eyes when I saw her eyes brightened after seeing Ash too.   "The famous Ash Flynn Lux...you're so protective or your mate aren't you? It'll make her weak if you keep on doing that," she sneered, which made me stop. Ash is not making me weak...he's actually going to help me get stronger. "I am because she means everything to me, but that doesn't make her weak," Ash mumbled, my heart skip a beat after hearing those words.   "Warriors are strong and there's no fight that they should back out unless they're a coward...well are you scared that I might beat her to death?" she argued, and I saw from the back how Ash's body became stiff like he didn't like what he has heard so I touched his back.   The students were murmuring and crowding up like ants again so I sighed and gripped the cloth of his training uniforms.   "Ash, it's okay...I'll be fine, don't worry I'll try to talk this out," I tried to reassured him, which made him glance from behind.   "B-But--"   "Trust me, Ash, I'll be okay...don't worry," I firmly said. He looks like he didn't want to, but he went to my side so that I could see them clearly again.   "Oh? Changed your mind? Not backing out anymore?" Freya asked while smirking at me, but I just remained in my blank face.   "A real warrior never asks to fight the weak and only fights when there's a real danger," I stated a fact, which made some of the students gasp as they continuously exchanging glances at me and Freya from each other sides of the field.   Some of them we're telling me that I have a point and to call the professor. I can't believe someone's really taking my side.   Freya's smirked was wiped off of her face and narrowed her eyes on me, shoot! She looks really scary because of her dark makeup!   "So you're admitting that you're weak?" she asked like she found me amusing, but I just nodded.   "Of course I am, I'm still learning from our studies and training every day, I'm still weak compared to you since you're the top one I heard?" I honestly said because I'm really just dedicated to ace and master my studies most especially here in our training.   "So the rumors were wrong? That there's a student who excels in combat training and saved herself by the fireball yesterday," she claimed, which made my emerald eyes bulge. What the heck? Where are they hearing these rumors?   If no one saved me back there I'll be dead! Why are they believing such rumors, they're at the top of this University so they should know better.   "That's not true, I was saved by my mate back there, and why the heck would you believe those rumors?" Freya looks so pissed at my words, she's glaring at me and again if looks can kill then I'll be dead meat.   "You talk a lot, why don't we just settle it into a fight?" she said and this time she's walking towards me with her companion...I think that is her mate.   "You know what? Fine, I'll fight you but only if you accept my request," I mumbled, so Ash was looking at me intently like he doesn't want what am I doing right now. I smiled and reassured him that I can handle this.   "Fine and if I did win you'll be serving me for the whole school year so what is your request?" she asked, so I just sighed before nodding.   "Stop doing this anymore, stop challenging anyone that you think is a threat," I firmly said, which made her scoff as she ordered every student to scatter away, even our professor just sighed like there's nothing he could do.   "Fine it's a deal," she smirked before throwing away her jacket somewhere. I readied myself and waited for her to attack.   "Nyx, please don't do this," I heard Kathy called out from somewhere like she's worried, I looked at her only to see that she has the same expression as Ash and Draven.   "I'll be fine... I got this," I smiled even though from the insides I'm actually really scared. My heart is pounding so rapidly as I try to remember where Freya was good at.   She excels in martial arts which would be really difficult for me to handle. I did practice martial arts before but I know it isn't enough. I'll just try to do my best.   I was always alone so I intend to spend my time reading and studying a lot of things including each and everyone's skills at this University. It actually helps me to get better so I really appreciate how strong and great others at those movements, skills, and talents.   "Are you ready to get beaten, Hailey Nyx Jaden?" she asked, so I just grunted. She's the one who talks too much. When she decided to run towards me with massive speed, I positioned myself.   I could tell that she's going to kick me on her stunt, so I jumped and eyed her as she changed her attacking position again. She jumps and tried to kick me in the air which caught me off guard so she hit my hips but I still landed perfectly on the ground.   Crap, that hurt like hell. What kind of bones were her legs made of? I shook my head and focused when she attacked again.   We've been just exchanging skills and attacks with each other causing us to invite a very large crowd. It's hard to find some opening because she keeps on moving too fast, I grunted when she hit my hips again with her legs which made me really furious.   What is with her and my hips?! I became more serious with my movements since I was only using skills that would defend myself from her attacks. We're both catching our breaths as I increased my pace of attacking, she's really good. I now realized why she's called number one...It's hard to find an opening to her weakness.   I was thinking too much about it when I didn't notice her punch from her left hands that caused me to fly over to the other side.   Oh's and Aw's was suddenly heard from the crowd, but I still tried to stand up. I look at Kathy, Draven, and Ash, they're looking at me like they're really worried.   "Don't space out on a fight, Nyx," she smirked before she ran over towards me. I firmly stand on my ground and waited for her to attack. I must find her weakness fast or I'll really lose here.   She hit me again on my hips which shocked me because it didn't hurt that much like before, it wasn't heavy as before so I glanced at her. When I saw her put her hands on her knees like she's catching her breath, I already found out where she really lacks.   Stamina and agility...she has those from the beginning but if she overused them, her attacks will weaken. I secretly smiled because I will take it to my advantage and finally gave my full strength.     To be continued…
