When the Fate Changes

Chapter 11

DYLAN

We get all our things and luggage to get ready to walk. We are Team 5 and we are the last team to walk. I'm with Dr. Hillary, Nurse Ellie and Nurse Morgan. I'm glad I'm with them. I am actually slightly close to them than the others.

Our team are the one who will bring clothes to the villagers. This is not hard task for us. We waited until the Teams already made the destination. I don't know why we can't walk together.

"Are you familiar with this place?" Dr. Hillary asked.

"This is my first time in this place" Nurse Ellie said.

"Me too" Nurse Morgan also said. They all look at me and I'm obviously not familiar in this place. I'm not into travelling so I just shake my head.

"Then if not, how are we going to the village?" Nurse Morgan asked. Nurse Ellie brings out a map from her bag.

"At least we have a map. It will be easy for us, right?"

"I'm not good at maps" I coldly said.

"You're good at maps right, Nurse Ellie?" Dr. Hillary said.

"Ah... Of course"

"Why I can't trust that expression of yours?" Nurse Morgan said. They always argue and fight but it's only okay for Dr. Hillary. She doesn't mind calling her on her name sometimes by them. They are just so close to each other.

After the members of Team 3 walk for about 30 minutes ago. We also started to walk. Nurse Ellie was leading the way, after her are Dr. Hillary and Nurse Morgan and me. Because we are the last group to walk it was already 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

We heard that it was only 30 minutes to reach the village but it was almost 45 minutes and we still can't find the village.

"Are you really sure that we can reach the village, Ellie?" Nurse Morgan asked.

"I told you; don't call me by my name only... I know we're almost there" she shouted in front. Dr. Hillary was unusually quiet and I think she was feeling nervous about walking in the forest. I also feel that. I feel a little bit scared.

We already walked for 1 and a half hour but we only see trees while walking. We all stop and rest while sitting on the big roots of the trees and big stones.

"You said you're good at maps" Nurse Morgan to Nurse Ellie.

"This is my second time looking at maps. Can you stop picking fight at me?" she said.

"It's okay; you two can stop fighting for now. I know someone will go to find us" Dr. Hillary said. I smile at how positive she was. We waited for almost 1 hour again and no one is coming. It was also dark in the forest.

"I'm so tired... I can't believe we are going to lost in the forest." Nurse Morgan said.

"How are we going to find the village if it's already dark" Nurse Ellie said.

"If we walk in the dark forest, there's a big possibility that we will be further away from the village" I saw the two nurses smiling.

"That is one of the longest sentence you ever said Dr. Rain" Nurse Morgan sarcastically said. They all laughed and I unconsciously joined them.

"It will be better if we're going to stay here and just wait for the other teams to rescue us... Because we are in the forest, I know we don't have signal here so I'm thinking if we make a bonfire and the smoke will surely get other attentions" we all clapped at Dr. Hillary's idea.

"You're really the coolest Hill" Nurse Ellie said. I saw her wink and I just laughed. I totally forgot that we are lost because of how noisy we are. We just make jokes and laughing all the time while making the bonfire.

After a few minutes, we finally made the bonfire. The smoke literally goes up and we all just watch it.

"I'm tired" Ellie said.

"I think we can take turn to sleep and while waiting for someone that can rescue us." Morgan also said.

"You can sleep for now, we will wait after 1 hour and wake you up if someone came" I said. They just nod and lay down on the blankets they had.

I can't sleep so I decided to just stay awake. Dr. Hillary sits beside me in the big root of tree.

"I never thought we were going to be lost" I said.

"It's not my first time though. I got lost in the forest too when I am in my elementary days. The day when we have school trip." she also has experience like me when I am in elementary. Is this why I see her getting nervous a while ago?

"How you got lost?" I asked.

"I am walking with my classmates when they suddenly run and leave me behind. I saw yellow coat in a cliff. I try to get it but I fell down. I shouted for help but no one is coming until I heard someone crying so I quickly go there while bringing the yellow coat. It's a little boy, his head was bleeding and I help him... Wait... Why did I tell you that story?" I heard her laugh. It's her. She is that girl who got lost with me when I am in elementary. That is why her school is so familiar to me.

I thought we would never meet again. She was actually my first crush back then even though she didn't tell her name. She doesn't change a bit. She still doesn’t trust strangers but still helping someone in need.

"Then what happen?" I asked.

"It's a secret. We're not even close" she sarcastically said.

"You're too mean... I'm actually curious, why did you become a doctor?"

"It's because of that boy, after I wipe the blood on his head and wrap my handkerchief on her, he suddenly stop crying and smiles at me. I felt so happy and that's when I thought I feel overwhelmed when I cure someone and help people in need" she said.

"You're really the best" she looked at me seriously.

"Are you complimenting me?"

"Yes, I'm saying the truth" I smile and wink at her. She rolled her eyes and I see her secretly smiling.

"Thank you, Mr. Dylan for always saying that I'm cool and I'm the best. I don't hear words like that from strangers"

"You still think I'm a stranger" she nods.

"Because I still don't know what you look like" she sarcastically said. We both laugh. I forgot that I am sad because my girlfriend did not come yesterday on our wedding day. But now I just feel comfortable and warm while talking to Dr. Hillary. It's not bad that I am in Rain's body because I found my first crush and I found friends who always make me laugh like Nurse Ellie and Nurse Morgan.

Even though I'm not in my real body, I still have the realest person by my side today. This is the best part of my miserable life.
