I make a hand shake to the woman whom I still don't know the name. She sits down again after a few seconds of hand shaking.
"Where have you been, Rain? We are really worried about you" Rain's mother said.
"Don't worry, mom. I'm really okay, something just came up to the hospital that's why I'm sleeping on my colleague's house for days" I answered, but that's literally a lie.
"But why can't we contact you?" his father asked.
"I actually changed my phone because my old phone just collapsed a few days ago... I'm sorry for worrying you both mom and dad" I said.
"I thought you're really ignoring my calls" I don't how I will answer this woman. I can't smile or I can't just ignore her because she is Rain's fiancée. But, I don't know if they are close and I still don't know her name.
"It’s not... like that" I utterly said. She smile but I don't know what she means by that creepy smile for me. I don't want to judge someone that I don't know but I can't help to cringe at her scary look.
The first impression I have for her makes me worried. Is this really the girl that Rain will marry?
Another set of foods came up and there's the desert.
"Are you enjoying the food, Mandy?" Mr. Villamor asked. Finally I already heard her name but I thought her name will be something scarier like her. But, she has an innocent name. I'm feeling hopeless a while ago because of her name.
"Yes uncle. Thank you for inviting me today" she smiled but I don't feel if it is her true smile. She looked at me and just stares. I looked away and just eat my food.
"No problem, you can always come back here every time you want" Rain's father said. She just smiles.
I felt awkward and anxious. I thought this act will be easy for me to do. But, because of this woman something's just strange.
"So, what's your plan for your wedding?" mother asked. I can't speak; I don't even know what their plan is. Silence fills the dining table inside the house.
"We are not yet talking about that, Auntie and Uncle. Actually, we want to go on a date and to talked about our wedding privately. We want some time to decide for our own" Mandy explain.
"I'm impressed, you're really is a businesswoman. You know how to persuade me by your words and negotiate with us" Father said.
I am also impressed. She is quiet smart by how she talks but her scary atmosphere that I can feel makes me don't want to know about her more. I don't want Rain to this kind of woman. I also don't think that Rain and Mandy talks about a date. I think she just said it to stop Rain's parents from asking about the wedding.
After the dinner, I already said goodbye to Rain's parents also Mandy. We both went outside, awkwardly. I feel like they are not that close even though they are going to marry soon. She stops walking outside the gate so I stop too.
"Why didn't you answer your parents? You just let me think and come up to a reason about our wedding? I thought you’re that smart but you can't even answer them" she said. She really is something.
"What?" I don't know how I can answer her. She's so rude.
"Never mind, as I said a while ago, we need to go on a date and pretend. Someone might go and tail on us" she explains.
"Is that true?" she just nod.
"We both don't like each other so let's just pretend that we're close. Let's meet next week on Monday. I also have something to tell you... Dr. Rain"
"Why don't you tell it now? It's just the two of us. Also, I'm busy on Monday. I have an appointment"
"Do you think who is busier than us? This will be our first and last date, so don't worry." she said. Her phone suddenly rings.
"I need to take this call. You can go now" she said. She answered her call and quickly walks away. I feel strange about the person she is talking because it was only an unknown number but it looks like it is so important to her.
She temporarily left her car and walk away to talk on her phone. I follow her until she stops on a dark and narrow road.
"Where are you? I'm already here" I still can hear the words she says.
"Okay, I'll wait" she said and drops the call. She literally just stands there and like waiting for someone to come. I hide from a far because I know someone will come to her. After a few minutes I saw a man walking towards the narrow road. I run silently and just listen from them.
I saw the man giving an envelope to Mandy.
"This is the information about him, ma'am. Until now, we still can't see him but we're trying our best." the man said. It only means that he was finding someone.
"Okay, you can take your time, you still have until tomorrow." she said "How about my brother, do you have any information about him? Do you know where he is now?"
"We already saw him yesterday and we're tailing at him. We can almost get his phone number so you can contact him again soon" the man answers. She just nod and the man already go. I run again and hide so that he can't see me. The narrow road only has one entrance that is why I'm struggling to hide from them.
I already thought that she is hiding something. She was looking for 2 men and especially why she had to follow her brother. I feel like she was not close to anybody. I run again so that she can't see me listening to them because I know she will go back to his car.
This mysterious girl makes me curious about her even though I don't care about her. She just knows how to make people interesting. I need to know who is the man she's talking to even I don't care about her. But, I don't want to get Rain married into a psycho girl.
I am just trying to help and this is the only way I can do.
