A Crossed Boundary.

Damien's POV. It is like time stopped for a little bit. The moment those words left Archie's mouth, I could not move or think. Of course I expected Aiden to attack but not so f*****g fast. If there is one thing that Aiden Kraus loves to do, it is to get a rise out of me. It does not matter how many lives are lost in the process. He plays his games in a different way. Moving my feet, I stalk into my room quietly, moving to the wardrobe for the black box that I keep there. I guess I have to fight this one myself at least. I pull out the little bottle from the box, and bring it to my lips to take a gulp. This bottle was given to me by my father to give me the additional strength I needed as a leader, but it is only to be used for battles like this. As the liquid passes my throat and goes to my stomach, I can already feel the effect. My already cold body is getting much colder, nails getting longer, eyes getting darker and my skin becomes white as snow. I stride back into the sitting room without a care in the world, although I am suddenly reminded that a confounded Persephone is just watching everything with wide eyes. I ignore her and go straight to Archie, "Call Tobias and Rahn. Tell them to meet me at The Border with some fighters." For some reason, I cannot seem to look Persephone in the eyes or even look in her direction. All this must be new to her and by the sound of her heart--which I can hear more clearly now that I have morphed-- she must be startled. I shouldn't bother too much about it though because now is the time to fight for my people. I walk back into the house drenched in blood that isn't mine. What I failed to imagine was that Aiden could go to the lengths of collaborating with the werewolves just to bring me down. To say I was startled would be an understatement but I still managed to win that battle, as always. I know Aiden would never give up. This is just one out of many attacks that I and my people are going to receive from him but I will fight him back with all I have until he ends up like my parents who he killed. During the fight, I was suddenly reminded of Persephone, and she has been on my mind ever since. The moment the fight was over and I had made sure I had twisted the necks of all Aiden's men, I suddenly had the urge to come back home, just to see her. I had told Archie to warn her to lock the door and not open the door for anyone and by the look of the house, it seems like she obeyed. All the windows are shut and the door is tighly locked too. I ring the doorbell, once, twice and I can already hear her hesitant footsteps approaching the door. One thing that calms me for reasons completely unknown to me, are the sounds of her little feet against my floor. I gave her a pair of slippers when she came here but I never for once saw them on her leg even when I place them before her bed every night. I smile to myself as I wait for her to open the door, her scent becoming more profound as she approaches the door but suddenly I hear her feet stop, right in front of the door. "Its Damien" I tell her and her feet begins to move again, faster this time, making me smile. I guess she waited for me. She pulls the door open and when she sees me and the state I am in, a surprised gasp leaves her lips. I am not wounded, not even a little bit but I am drained and weak, I know for sure that I definitely look worse than I feel, covered in blood and all. "Damien" She whispers, her hands coming up to her mouth "Are you okay?" She moves aside for me to step into the house but as I attempt to do so, I loose my footing and trip. I have to hold the wall to support myself but surprisingly, Persephone's warm hands latch unto my arms, pulling me up and helping me to stand. It makes me chuckle to myself. Of all the girls of her age, Persephone has to be one of the smallest I have seen. She has a small frame and little biuld, sometimes it makes me feel like I could lift her up with just a finger so it is quite funny that she thinks she could help me. It is the thought that matters right? I try to hide my smile when little grunts fall from Persephone's lips as we take slow steps towards my room. With severe difficulty, we cross the living room and finally enter my room. Persephone helps me sit on the bed, the force of my weight causing her to fall back on the bed also. "Woah you're so heavy" She pants, pulling her hair back from het face as she stands up from the bed. "Do you have any wounds?" Her eyes scan my body until it stops on my face and meets my eyes. I shake my head and she nods. "I cooked" She says, almost hesitantly "You did?" "Mhm" She nods "I made soup. According to my Mum, it gives you strength" I just listen to her as she speaks, unable to remove my eyes from her full lips. Thinking back to a few moments before Archie's arrival, I remember how her face looked when I leaned in closer. Her eyes were shut and her full lips were slightly parted as she awaited the touch of mine. "Damien" I snap my attention back to her "I said would you like to try it?" I nod. She stands up from the bed, giving me the privacy I need to freshen up and come to the kitchen. I immediately do so, pulling the bloody clothes and chucking them in the laundry basket before walking into the shower. Few minutes later, I walk into the living room and the warm smell of homemade soup invades my senses. I walk into the kitchen to find Persephone already seated on the stool beneath the counter, setting up the food. The moment her eyes meet mine, she smiles "C'mon" She says. I pull out the stool to take my seat but something crosses my mind, Persephone saw me this morning before the fight. When I morphed into my original nature. She looked scared as hell back then but now....one would expect that she would be scated or even run away but somehow, it seems like she is more comfortable around me now. "Are you not curious about the fight?" I ask ans she shakes her head "No?" "No" "Why?" "Nothing" She shrugs. "Well, aren't you scared?" It is quite amusing how serene she is towards this whole stuation, it piques my interest in this girl even more. "Of what?" She looks genuinely confused. "Me" "Should I be? I haven't a reason to be." She smiles "I know you expected a different reaction from me. I can tell by the way you are looking at me" "I am just surprised s'all. You are human after all, acting on impulse and not waiting to hear the facts is peculiar to your kind" "Is that an insult?" She eyes me skeptically "No, a fact" "Well the last time I checked, you were the one that called me a semi-human" She beams, showcasing a row of perfectly white and pearl-like teeth. It is the first time I have seen her smile like this, this makes me smile too. "Drink it" She pushes the bowl of soup in my direction. I pick the spoon from the tray to take a sip and when I do, the sweet taste and light texture warms my chest. I shut my eyes and moan in ecstasy. "This tastes beautiful" I tell her and she smiles, a darker shade of pink rising to her cheeks. Her hands come up to feel her cheeks, a habit that I have noticed she does whenever she gets shy. "Thank you" I drink the soup in silence and when I am done, she takes the plate against my wishes and washes it. "So there's this new channel" She starts as she walks to the living room and plops down on the couch "It shows how to train pets, not that I am a pets lover or anything but I find it very interesti--what?" She asks when she realizes that I have been staring at her wildly. My feet leads me to the couch were she is seated and I seat beside her. "Nothing. Go on" I tell her, still staring at her lips. "Okayyy, well I am mostly interested in how they raise big cats like Leopards and Lions and stuff like tgey do it so wel--" My face inches closer to hers, as if asking for permission to go further and when she nods, I close the spacw between our faces, smashing our lips together.
