Persephone's POV. Damien did not mind being seen. He immediately took me to the nearest alley and teleported, making us end up in his sitting room. I have been quiet since we left, my eyes fixed on nothing in particular but also unmoving. Damien didn't pester me, he just sat by my side, his hand rubbing my knee in soothing motions. I had expected him to be mad, to rage about how careless I was. Because in all truth, I was indeed careless, I let my emotions get the best of me and ruined everything. But he wasn't even angry, by his features, I can only pick out one emotion-- exhaustion. He seems only exhausted, whereas I feel a plethora of emotions, making me numb to my environment.
