Kayla spun around and hurried after Quade's retreating figure. Just a meter away, she couldn't resist glancing back at Jackson, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Jackson flashed a subtle smile at Kayla and clasped Bethany's hand, as if to show Kayla his choice.
In the end, Kayla followed Quade.
The four of them watched Quade and his group leave, finally breathing a collective sigh of relief.
