"Got any bright ideas?" Jackson asked, glancing at Kayla. He noticed the redness on her foot and understood her intentions clearly.
Kayla glanced back at Sheree, pursing her lips.
"No, but I can't walk anymore. If I keep going, I'll die." Kayla looked up with pleading eyes, her voice laced with a playful whine as she gazed at Jackson.
Lily sidled up to Jackson, lowering her voice so only the two of them could hear.
"Captain, how about we just ditch them?"
If he went back with Lily, things would be much easier and far less troublesome.
"Don't you want revenge? Hmm?"
Jackson's casual comment sparked a fire in Lily.
Lily's lips curled into a mischievous smile as she addressed Kayla in a sweet, teasing tone.
