"Uh-oh, it's a scorpion! Could it be poisonous?" Bethany exclaimed, freezing in place as she looked at the palm-sized critter, her skin prickling with goosebumps. "Shh, don't disturb it," Jackson said, still relatively calm. The others held their breath, their bodies tense, and watched in horror at the scorpion on Lisa's foot. For the first time, Lisa felt her skin crawl; even when she encountered a crocodile before, she hadn't been this scared. Looking at the scorpion on her foot, Lisa felt she was one step closer to death. In this wilderness, if she really got stung by the scorpion, her little life might just end here.
