“Are you ready honey?” My mom asks me as we wait.
“So ready I could burst,” I tell her, smiling from ear to ear.
“Okay, I better go grab my seat. I love you Hadley, you look absolutely beautiful,” Kevin, my step dad, tells us.
He kisses my mother then me before he leaves the room. Julia comes flying around the corner then, looking flustered.
“Where were you?” I ask her.
She’d disappeared for over ten minutes. She blushes.
