By Friday night, Yira had come to one important conclusion. Tengku Syazir Muzhir was everywhere. Everywhere. No matter where she stood inside Titan Core Fitness, the man somehow appeared nearby like a ridiculously attractive haunting. Front counter? Syazir. Lounge area? Syazir. Water dispenser? Still Syazir.
“You know stalking is illegal, right?” Yira muttered while arranging membership forms.
Syazir, standing on the other side of the counter, looked offended. “I’m a loyal customer.”
Yira : “You’re a disturbance.”
Syazir : “That hurts.”
Yira : “It should.”
Aina walked past them carrying towels. “The s****l tension in this gym is crazy.”
“There is no tension,” Yira replied instantly.
Syazir tilted his head. “She answered too fast. That means there’s tension.”
Yira nearly threw a pen at him. Before she could respond, Faiz suddenly shouted from the cardio area. “Yira! Emergency!”
Yira immediately frowned.“What happened?”
Faiz : “One treadmill froze again!”
She sighed heavily before walking toward the cardio section. Sure enough, one of the treadmills had stopped functioning while displaying a blinking error message.
A frustrated customer stood nearby. “I almost fell just now!”
“I’m so sorry, sir,” Yira said quickly. “We’ll fix it immediately.” While she crouched down to inspect the treadmill plug, another voice appeared behind her.
Syazir : “Need help?”
Of course. It is Syazir.
Yira : “No.”
Syazir : “I’m good with machines.”
Yira : “You look like the type who breaks them.”
Syazir : “That’s judgmental.”
Ignoring him, Yira reached behind the treadmill to adjust the cable. Unfortunately, the position forced her slightly off balance. And before she could react properly— her foot slipped. A hand instantly grabbed her wrist. Strong, warm and steady. Yira’s eyes widened. Syazir had caught her before she could hit the treadmill. For one brief second, neither of them moved. The noisy gym around them strangely faded into the background.
“You okay?” he asked quietly.
Yira blinked. “…yes.”
But Syazir still didn’t let go immediately. His brows furrowed slightly. “You sure?”
Yira : “I said yes.”
Only then did he slowly release her wrist. Unfortunately, Faiz witnessed the entire thing. “OI.”
Yira immediately closed her eyes. No. Please no.
Faiz pointed dramatically. “That looked like a Korean drama scene.”
Several nearby gym members burst into laughter. Yira felt heat rise to her face.
“It was an accident,” she snapped.
“Mhm.” Faiz grinned. “Accident with chemistry.”
Yira : “Faiz, shut up.”
Meanwhile, Syazir leaned casually against the treadmill beside her. Completely shameless. “You almost fell,” he said softly.
Yira : “And whose fault is that?”
Syazir : “I actually saved you.”
Yira : “You’re still annoying.”
Syazir smiled. “But now I’m your annoying hero.”
An embarrassing incident happens when Syazir accidentally spills his protein shake again all over Yira’s counter. Yira just sigh a breath of relief since it wasn't spilled on any documents or electronics.
