Jason and Ann could have gone past the cuddling and kissing had they not heard the grinding of dry leaves nearby , signalling something approaching . Hastily , they straightened up , eyes roving over the short trees and ears sharpened .
" There ! There's a man behind that tree ," gestured Jason towards a buttressed tree . Ann confirmed .
The said man seeing that he had been recognized , approached towards them . Ann identified him as the man who had come to her room asking for a lighter the previous day .
