The end of Janet's gestational term came abruptly one early morning . She had just taken her shower when she felt sharp back pain and cramps which increased gradually . She had not expected it this soon because her clinical report indicated that it was to be due in two weeks' time .
She sat on her bed and called the maid . She then instructed her to pack some clothes for the baby and for her personal use . She could not think of anybody to call to drive her to hospital as most of her friends had already reported to their diverse work stations . However , she called the only person who she knew could definitely find time for her . She dialed Jose's number .
" I need your help ," she said as soon as the call connected , amidst excruciating abdominal contractions .
" Ok . When ?" Jose ask
