Ayla, now not so content, began to look through the castle's books for rituals of empowerment and what she could do with her powers. She found a section on breaking a pact, specifically the pact with Lilith, but to do this, she needed to obtain the power of the demon to become a dark witch on her own, without depending on anyone. But how could she summon the Demon King if only the "Gods" could invoke him? Ayla began to study Hecate, a great goddess who could help her because Hecate wouldn't need her, but how would she invoke Hecate without sufficient power?

The following week, she met with Denys, and they did various things, such as summoning animals like the three-headed dog and cats. They also rotted fruits with their hands and set fires in whatever shape they wanted. They summoned animals from the underworld that served to torment humans; they were nothing but mockers. Ayla levitated, but Denys did not have this power. He could manipulate people's imaginations, which she couldn't do yet. She tried to manipulate the imagination of a young witch performing a ritual incorrectly to make her feel fear but failed.

They arrived at a place that looked more like a garden, with tall bushes and numerous flowers along the path, a small crystal-clear lake in the center. The water revealed stones and fish at the bottom. The sun was rising, and the birds were singing. For someone from the underworld, it was a piece of their world, a place of peace and tranquility. Hecate called out to her. ~ "Ayla, come here!" Timidly, Ayla walked up to her. Hecate was at the edge of the lake and instructed her to watch as she made movements with her hands, making the water move. ~ "You must have the strength of faith, even those from the underworld have faith. I see that unlike them, you have a heart, and that is why you are so strong."

Then she started thinking about Denys, and the water responded to the movement of her hand. Although not as pronounced as what Hecate was doing, it was progress. The water test was passed. Now they moved on to a stream with various magical stones. Ayla was almost emotional and wanted to collect them all.
