7 The test's results

Once we got our things together and cleaned up to close I offered, and was refused, to drop off Daniel, but he seems to be focused on something, I hope that it's studies and not personal issues. I need to make sure my kids are safe, then I will do my meditation training for the day.
" Hey are you doing ok?"
I texted both my sons and waited for their calls so I can pick them up, or make sure they are safe. I got replies quickly from them both, so I headed home, my elder son left for a bit of book browsing, and my younger son got back home safely.
When I arrived home, I double checked that everything was done before I took a moment and began my meditation, taking a few deep breaths and began to focus on my spell, 'Elemental Control' before opening my eyes as I see the air in my room before it began to swirl and cool off the room, it was just the air within my room that I could control and I began to focus on cooling the air and started trying to control the flames from a lighter, just trying to keep the flames going but away from the fuel source, but it seemed I was un able to do anything but move the air around the flame or putting it out.
"Hey dad, why is it so cold near your room?"
"I'm testing a new skill, a spell actually, 'Elemental control', but I think I can only control one element at a time, but I also don't know what it considers an element."
"So, you're controlling the air? Cool!"
"Thanks, I'm glad you think it is cool too, maybe later I can do some tricks with it, and maybe I can fly with my spell while controlling the air, or I could make you fly, but only if you promise not to make too much noise about it, ok? I don't want you or your brother to have any more issues than what you two are already dealing with."
"Ok, I promise not to talk about it unnecessarily with anyone outside of you."
"Thank you, now please let me continue training with this spell so I can try to see if I can fly or levitate with this spell."
My younger son simply nods smiling before saying softly.
"Ok I hope you figure it out Dad."
I smiled softly as I keep focusing on the spell and starting to feel out of breath myself as I attempt to float myself using the air, and I was actually able too, but only for a short time before I had to uncast the spell as I was starting to slowly pass out due to exhaustion.
I was able to hold off from passing out and started to meditate again only to quickly feel refreshed, and clearing my mind helped to quickly recover my stamina and help me to stay awake after pushing my limits like that, I had been casting the spell for roughly half an hour before I had to stop so I wrote that down.
-----The next day-----
We had a boring night after I finished meditating and the next couple of days were quite uneventful until I met with the investigator and sat together near a smaller café.
"So how would you like to do this? Just want me to use investigate after you cast the spell or as you cast it?"
"As I cast it and while I am casting it."
"Ok then let me get ready."
I smiled while pulling out my notebook and starting to focus on the spell when I suddenly rip some concrete out of the ground as well as some chunks of the ground once I got the go ahead.
"So it seems your spell selects the most abundant element near you, from what I can tell it is more focused on availability rather than quality hence the concrete instead of pebbles or larger rocks under the concrete."
"So why didn't it choose air this time?"
"I believe that is because you are outside so there is more ground, or earth for you to use."
"Does that mean if I went to the ocean or broke a water pipe, I could theoretically control water?"
"It does seem so."
I smiled and put back the ground and the concrete back into place before writing down my notes and paying the investigator for his time before I headed to my car to do some meditation while thinking about how I could force one element over the others, or if I can focus on one element to choose that one ahead of time.
The day ended rather uneventful, though helping my kids and helping to keep things going smoothly for our household and keeping things clean as we needed to get a couple of days of meals ready ahead of time so that we could spend more time together due to me taking time to meditate now.
"So a couple of burgers, or how about a couple of mixed mac and cheese meals?"
"Some Mac and cheese mixes please Dad."
"Ok, let's do this then."
We spent a good hour, all three of us working together to get things cleaned up and in place, ready to go for me, or anyone else to cook quickly so we can spend more time together for at least the rest of today.
-----Three days later-----
I yawn as I get up and walk over to the bathroom and focused on the water in the shower as I casted 'Elemental Control' and actually was able to choose water as my element to control this time, and I gladly used it to help wash myself a little more efficiently and much less expensive as I used a lot less water than normal to wash my body before releasing my spell to be able let my stamina regen as I got ready for my day and to meet with the investigator later today.
"Hey dad, thank you for everything, I don't think I say it enough, but I greatly appreciate everything you do, and I love you."
"I love you too, thank you, and you're welcome, I would gladly do just about anything to help you be the best you, you can be so you can be better than me."
We talked for a little bit about what my younger son wanted to do, as my older son came over and asked about if I could help him, and we three ended up having an hour long conversation about the basics behind what I was going to help them start doing what they were passionate about, in a baseline way.
I took roughly an hour to meditate between driving and buying groceries and some items for my kids' passions before heading back home to drop off the groceries, and give my kids their items to help them with their passions. It was roughly an hour before it was time to go ahead to the meeting spot with the investigator with my notebook and a few extra items, some water bottles and a lighter. Once we met up again, I smiled softly and focused on the lighter as I ignited it before using 'Elemental control' to keep the flame going and growing the flame some while waiting for the investigator to use 'Investigate'.
"Well you can now control which element you choose, and it seems much more powerful as well as your clear control increase, and it says there is an evolution possible for this spell, that is unavailable yet."
"So if I train my spell more, I should have a stronger spell in its place?"
"Seems that way, also do you know someone by the name of 'Daniel [Redacted]'?"
"He is one of my coworkers."
"He is looking into quantum movement, if he learns teleportation as a spell, learn it from him in a basic form."
"Ok, do you want to investigate that too if I learn it?"
"Yes, and I will pay you for it."
"Ok, so want to see something else cool?"
"What is it?"
I smile and stop casting 'Elemental Control' before casting it again and starting to float using the air control.
"I can float using my spell but only for about half an hour now."
"Nice so you can do a variation on flying."
"Indeed, and now what does your skill say I am doing?"
"It says you have casted your spell but it also says you are using extreme focus."
"Ah so it can see all secondary effects too."
I smile and lower myself smiling softly before letting go of my spell and going back to my car to meditate again leaving the investigator to his lunch.
