Expositional Dump

The current major changes of this world from ours, for future events and actions to make sense.

World War 2 never happened, instead of becoming a tyrannical and horrible person, after being rejected as an artist, Hitler's manipulation quickly began to incite the intrigue of the higher ups in the military and they ended up making him a strategist and diplomat, using his abilities to increase their power and stance in the world, Japan never entered into a tyrannical state as well, Italy did, as did Russia, but the USSR was quickly disbanded due to quick evolutions of skills and abilities by the peasants.

Japan entered a state of insane growth, and due to a combination of Hitler's more positive influence in this world, While Italy and Russia entered a much shorter version of their equivalents in ours, they instead also ended up in a much better situation and the world began a different race, a power/magic/skill race for those with the highest abilities.

Due to the initial appearance of the system, millions of people in the world called off and went into mental wards because this was unprecedented, it took six months before the world came back to normal, and the entire commercial world and history began to both crumble and explode, history books were quickly changed to talk about how people did not yet have the system, and how the system appeared suddenly and that the best of all field both had their stats suited for those field at or above the 15 mark, and either near or past the level 2 marks, according to their own statements, though once the base tests were formed, after hundreds and thousands of honest and dishonest people being tested and retested, all but 3 were debunked from being at level 2.

While they are few and far between abilities have been seen and are much clearer when appearing than magic, and while magic was hidden by the government, abilities were under the skills listing and therefore available to be taught without much issue, even though the person who learned the ability would not be able to use it until they awakened, and even then their awakened ability may be different from the one they learned. Abilities are specialized powers, such as making something you touch quake, or turning intangible for a moment, even psychic abilities have been recorded and are much easier to confirm, as it would clearly drain the person mentally causing them to be extremely agitated, but there were also only a few of each type of ability known due to their sparseness.

The biggest difference in abilities and spells/magic is that abilities cause those who awaken them to be unable to use magic, as if their bodies have rejected magical energy inturn giving extremely powerful skills instead, giving one possibly overpowered power instead of many useful possible spells.

The military is separated into 6 sections mostly due to power and the fact that magic was essentially monopolized by the governments of each country.

USA [Commander (1) ---> Generals (50) ---> Corporals (100) ---> 1st Lieutenant (Anyone under Corporal level in power) ---> 2nd Lieutenant (Anyone rivaling but not beating 1st Lieutenants) ---> 3rd Lieutenant (Mostly Commanding Veterans) ---> 1st Commanding Private/Squad leader (Active duty Experienced troops) ---> 2nd Private (Everyone left)]

Japan/Asian United Forces [Commanding Generals (5) ---> Generals (50) ---> Corporal Lieutenants (100)

Lieutenants (Rivals Corporal Lieutenants, ranked between 156 to 256) ---> Special Ops (Ranked between 257 to 500) ---> Squad Leaders (Ranked 501-1000) ---> Privates, 4th to 1st (Everyone else/unranked)]

The president or other political leaders of each country also must listen and communicate with their highest ranking military officials to keep both the peace, and the countries from having internal wars, and is partially been forced in place for when idiots or those without a full grasp of their power can not abuse their power while in a political office of high standing.

As shown a bit, spells and magic can be used through a combination of understanding and sheer will power, Like Gerald who willed into existence his 'Hold Person' spell, anyone with strong enough emotional actions can cause a spell to be used and unlock their Magic, or like how Daniel unlocked his first Understood spell 'Teleport' was through a combination of willing it to happen and understanding the principles behind the magic that would cause it to happen, allowing for an understanding and the derivative to be quickly formed when he wanted to use them. As like with Mr. White who awakened the Spell 'Elemental Control' and formed a minor derivative in the form of 'Elemental Bullet' was due to emotional connection and then understanding that something firing like a bullet mixed with his affinity might make things harder on someone who can 'Teleport' increased his will to be able to use it, though Daniel was able to pick it up almost instantly due to how obvious the applications were to him at the time.

Another way of understanding it, is to imagine forcibly pushing or breaking through a barrier out of sheer determination, while someone else looks at the barrier, finds the weak spot, and shatters it with a couple of hits at the weak spots, both allow entry past the barrier, and both use the same amount of energy, but they use that energy in very different ways, such as looking over the barrier and inspecting it, instead of simply rushing at it and bashing against it until you force your way past.

Minor spoilers for those who truly are annoyed, the newest person being introduced as a mystery is indeed the girl being held hostage due to her own failure to treat others as humans, read into it as you wish.
