Today was the day. Only a half day where the seniors clean out their lockers, meet with advisors, and have fun. I got dressed and went down stairs. I could feel Blake’s presence already. I walked into the kitchen where he and Amy were laughing and talking.
“There you are!” Blake smiled.
“Where’s Jake?” I asked.
“Oh, he um… stayed with a friend.” Amy said as she avoided eye contact.
“He stayed with Jessica?” I asked and Blake seemed suddenly uncomfortable.
“I’m not sure. He said he was staying at a friend's house.” Amy walked past me towards her room.
“It’s a double standard!” I yelled to her and grabbed Blake’s hand. “Let’s go.” I said and Blake followed out the door.
