FLORA
“You can be serious, Theron. I saved you, I deserve to leave here!”
The hulk of a man standing before me took a sip of that black poison and shook his head.
His friend, Yarrow, sat at the dining table, his eyes curiously watching us.
“You are not in a position to make demands, Flora.”
“Are you f*****g kidding me!”
Theron growled. “Language.”
I shifted my eyes to Yarrow, “are you guys f*****g kidding me? First of all, you kidnapped me after I stumbled upon your animalistic ritual, then you fed me this black poison that made me pass out for almost a week! And now you’re saying I can’t leave after I saved him. Are you f*****g kidding me?”
“Flora,” Theron warned. I sharply turned to him, a finger pointing to his face.
“No, no. Theron. You have no right to speak to me. Sit down!”
Yarrow growled lowly as Theron’s brow shot to his forehead.
I dragged my upper lips between my teeth and eyed them.
Swallowing thickly, I padded my feet to the dining table and dropped into the seat next to Yarrow.
His body heat attacked me immediately, like I was swaddled in his arms. I felt small sitting next to his large frame.
I locked my fingers on the table and looked up at Theron. “Please sit down, Theron, we have to talk.”
He downed the black poison in one go, placed the glass on the table then rounded the dining table and sat in front of me.
His large body filled the seat just like Yarrow’s.
For a minute, my mind ran back to that night in the woods when I was trapped between both men.
A shiver ran down my spine. I squeezed my eyes and shuddered violently.
I felt hands on my back and my arms, when I opened my eyes, Yarrow’s hand was on my back while Theron touched my arms lightly, their eyes searching my face.
“Are you good?”
“Are you okay, Flora?” They asked in unison.
I shrugged their hands away. “I’m fine. Thank you.” I added reluctantly.
“We can all agree that I’ve been good, right?”
Yarrow growled lowly as Theron scoffed lightly.
“You can’t f*****g be serious! I have been good and you f*****g know it.”
“Language, Flora. God damnit.”
“I have been good. I should be kicking down every door in this house looking for an escape but here I am trying to be reasonable with you! You kidnapped me, for f***s sake.”
“What do you want?” Yarrow asked, the softness in his voice marched the sparkle in his purple eyes. “Asides leaving that is, because you can’t leave.”
“Why?” I gritted my teeth.
Anger was rising in my chest. The pain and hurt from the idea of what my life could have been if I hadn’t stumbled upon that ritual.
Tears clouded my eyes but I chased them back immediately. I was not going to show weakness, not now.
“Let’s start from the beginning; the first at the restaurant, was that actually the first time?”
I opened my eyes. They landed straight in Theron’s . He nodded. “Yes.”
“What did you mean when you said you’d have my head for the ritual?”
“I didn’t mean that.” His voice was serious.
I looked at Yarrow, he looked as serious as Theron.
“But you needed someone’s head for the ritual.”
“No.”
I breathed in deeply and exhaled. “That night; my car, me coming up in that forest and seeing the ritual, was it planned?”
“Everything concerning you was fated, not planned. It was meant to be.” Yarrow answered.
“By who?”
“The moon goddess.”
I chuckled lightly as I shook my head.
That was a joke, it was all a freaking stupid joke. Dad would never believe this. Jake would mock me, yet there I was listening to that insanity.
“The moon goddess? You want me to believe that f*****g story about a goddess is real? You lots are as crazy as my father.”
“Your father, perhaps, not us.” I glared at him and turned my attention to Yarrow.
“If the moon goddess is real, that means…I don’t understand. It can’t be true.”
Tears began streaming down my eyes.
There was no way this was happening. Everything Dad had spent his time teaching me for every waking second of my life cannot be true.
They couldn’t be…
I couldn’t remember what happened exactly last night but I remember holding Theron down when he tried to harm himself. When he-
“Welcome home, Hybrid.”
“It is not your time.”
A beast… Furs…. Claws… The events of yesterday came rushing back to my head.
This was real, this was very real.
Fuck! I need to get to Dad.
Exhaling deeply, I put my hand in my pocket and felt the cold object in my hand. It was the first thing I reached for after my stuff was brought to me .
I pulled it out from my pocket and placed it on the table.
Immediately, Theron jerked his hands off the table with a hiss as Yarrow jerked away from my side, his chair slapping against the tiled floor as it fell.
“For f**k’s sakes, Flora.” Yarrow growled.
“Why in god's name do you have this?” Theron added.
I locked my fingers on the table and stared down at the silver plated knife. The tips twinkled against the white lights.
It was the first thing Dad gave me once I learnt to say ‘Dada’. And despite never believing his reasons -that ‘werewolves’ were real- I always kept the knife with me.
I’m glad that it’s finally coming to use.
“Take that thing off my table, Flora.”
“Touch it, Theron. Both of you.”
“We can’t and you know why.” Yarrow responded. He lifted his chair and sat back down.
I picked up the knife and began twirling it in my hand.
Yarrow cursed under his breath.
“Please, Flora, be careful with that.” Theron added.
“Werewolves, is it?” I chuckled. “So it’s true. Dad is not crazy after all.”
I squeezed my eyes and shook my head as the tears spilled out. “ How? Why? I just wanted a normal life where I can be free and happy and now I’m stuck here with f*****g beasts.”
Theron growled as Yarrow grabbed my throat. His lips found my ear immediately.
“Don’t f*****g call us that.” He muttered in a low voice.
Shivers ran down my throat and straight to my p***y. I pressed my legs and my lips together to keep a moan from slipping out.
Why the hell does my body react to him when I don’t even trust him?
“You are a Hybrid yourself.”
I tried to shove him away but he let go willingly. I turned to Theron.
“What happened to you yesterday? What were you fighting? Why did I come to you and why do you keep calling me a f*****g Hybrid?”
The dining seat scratched against the floor as Theron stood up.
“Let’s go see Sareth. Lose that damn weapon, Flora, please.”
