Flora
I barked out a loud laugh that rippled throughout the woods as my eyes bounced between both men. Green eyes was still glaring at me while Purple eyes still held the smile but had his brows narrowed at me like I had gone crazy.
I turned my head slightly to look at the gathering, one of the men threw something into the fire and it crackled before burning brightly.
“No.” My smile was gone when I faced Purple eyes. What did he mean by ‘the ritual is not for them’? And I’m late? What in heaven’s name were they talking about?
“No.” I said again, firmer this time.
I started to back out, completely ignoring my backpack. My phone was still in my hands serving the purpose for which I had it and that was enough. I moved quickly , one leg behind the other as my eyes cautiously remained on both men and they stood motionless watching my pathetic attempt to escape them.
I held my breath then breathed in sharply and breathed out. I did it again. They still hadn’t moved, only;
Purple eyes had his head tilted to the side while a small smile played along Green eyes’ lips.
Why? It was the only thing I could ask myself but I didn’t wait to find out, I was already far from them.
About twenty steps away, I was ready to bolt. It was enough of a headstart if they wanted to chase me down but I wouldn’t let them. I’d run and hide somewhere safe till the sun was up, till I could go to the police and report what I had seen.
What had I even seen? My eyes bounced between the two men. I’d figure that out later, I needed to be alive first. I was ready to run.
I turned around quickly ready for my escape and pain exploded through the side of my skull, the world tilted as my phone slipped from my hand. Leaves hit my face as my lungs gave out and darkness swallowed everything.

I was moving.
My legs were above the ground and my hands swung weakly at my sides but I was moving.
How it was, I wasn’t sure.
My temples burned, I wanted to rub them till the pain stopped but my hands wouldn’t move. My eyelids drooped low and I forced myself to keep them open, only one complied and I saw the sky, it was bright. The moon was full and bright and it lit the sky. A number of stars were littered there too. It was beautiful.
My eyelid dropped low again. I forced it open again. I wanted to stay awake, I wanted to be aware.
Pain rippled throughout my body.
My throat was dry and sore.
Leaves brushed against my weak hands.
I couldn’t stay awake, my lids dropped low and darkness engulfed me.

“…shouldn’t have happened!”
“No, Yarrow, forget it.” Voices boomed in my head.
I winced as I cracked my eyes open as pain shot through my body.
“No, it can’t happen again.” It was the first voice that spoke.
Where was I? I asked myself. Cold breeze seeped into my bones as my eyes began to take in the place. A low lit chandelier hung above me, dark beams covered half of the room, a study table with books piled on it on one side and a jug of black liquid and a glass on the other side.
It was unfamiliar territory.
I jerked up.
Movements came from the foot of the bed and the door flew open.
“Alpha! The lady is waking up.”
Had he been watching me sleep? Had I been sleeping?
I wanted to ask what had happened but before I could ask, I heard hurried footsteps echoing outside and before I could blink, three men crowded in the room and hovered over my bed. Two of whom I was already familiar with.
“Leave.” Cold shivers ran down my spine and I shuddered at the coldness at with Green eyes spoke.
The third man bowed, “yes,Alpha.” And left, closing the door behind him.
“You! You two!” I tried to get up from the bed but pain shocked me and I fell back into the bed.
“Take it easy, Flora.” Green eyes said softly as purple eyes walked to the table and poured the liquid into the glass and brought it to me.
I eyed the glass and scoffed. “What am I doing here? What did you do to me?” My head hurt. I pressed against my temples and felt a cloth around it. My heart dropped to my stomach. “What did you do to me?” My heart pounded against my chest.
I wanted to run but my body was numb and the part that wasn’t hurt like hell.
Green eyes took the glass from Purple eyes and sat next to me on the bed. “Take this, Flora, it would help with the pain. Sorry about your head, that wasn’t meant to happen.” He held the glass closer to me. “Please, take it. Yarrow would never hurt you.”
“Yarrow? Who is Yarrow?” Green eyes looked up at the man still standing beside us. His eyes were bare and his face emotionless; a sharp contrast to how it was yesterday. “Excellent. And who the hell are you and why the f**k have you kept me here?”
“I’m Torin, Torin Langston. I am your husband, or your Mate. Whichever term you would prefer.”
A laugh climbed my throat and I tried and failed to keep it down. Tears sneaked down the corner of my eyes and I wiped them off while trying to stabilize myself. When I did, I darted my eyes between the two men and found them looking at me with all seriousness.
“You are serious?” Green eyes -Torin- nodded as Yarrow said “Yes.”
“You must be f*****g ridiculous!” I threw the duvet to the side and climbed down the bed. Anger was beginning to surge up my spine and it was giving me the strength I needed.
Torin got up from the bed immediately and took hold of my hand, I tried to pull myself off his grip and he let me go without struggle. “I’m sorry, Flora, but you can’t leave.”
“Yeah? And I’m meant to stay here because you said so? Because you kidnapped me and told me that ‘I can’t leave’? Well, f**k that. I hope you have something to say to the police because guess what? You won’t leave prison.” I turned to Yarrow. “You too!”
Spittle flew from my mouth as I spoke and I wiped it off with the back of my hand. Not waiting for a response, I turned on my heels and yanked the door open.
“You really can’t leave,” Yarrow called after me but I didn’t respond and kept walking.
Despite telling me I couldn’t leave, both men followed me quietly as I barged around the house looking for my escape with no attempts to stop me.
A few thumpings later, I burst through the front door and came out into a large compound.
“Flora.” Torin called. It was a warning. Shivers ran down my body briefly turning my legs to jelly but I forced them to keep moving.
Two men were positioned at the gate but they made no attempts to stop me as I pushed the large gate open and stepped out.
Crippling shocks rippled throughout my body immediately my legs met the concrete floor and I fell to the ground as my body convulsed violently.
I felt blood rush to my head and drain out of my face. My eyes burned from staring into the sun, I tired to close them but they wouldn’t close. Something was lodged at the back of my throat but my body wouldn’t work when I tried to swallow.
I was paralyzed.
Tears clouded my eyes and began spilling from the sides immediately. What the f**k was happening?”
Before I could search my brain for an answer, a shadow came down on me and my eyes registered the two men I have been trying and failing to run from; Torin and Yarrow.
“I told you, Flora. You can’t leave.” Torin said softly.
