'I'm bored' my wolf, Loki whined as we were in my dad's office at home going through paperwork that has to go to one of our neighboring Alphas.

'Quit whining Loki' I said to him mentally rolling my eyes.

'I should be out running like the other wolves or looking for mate but nooo, we're here reading papers' he sighed dramatically.

Of course I ignored him by putting up a mental block between us and focussed on the paperwork in front of me.

Dad called out to me to get my attention then handed me a stack of papers, "Check how many of those police reports were Rogue attacks, the Rogues are becoming a problem again" He said angrily.

I started going through the countless police records and noticed how many were declared "unknown" or "animal attack" I whistled lowly then looked over at my dad, "This is bad, Jake and Richard need to start training with everyone again as soon as possible and the pack warriors need to be on high alert, the Rogues could try and attack us too." I'd like to see them try though, our pack is one of the strongest packs in America.

Dad nodded his head "Jake is going to make a fine Gamma you know."

I smirked "Yeah, that's why I chose him."

We carried on working for a few more minutes before dad sighed and I looked up at him. "What's wrong?" I asked seeing the worry lines on his forehead.

"I fear that you're not going to find your mate and Luna in time for the Alpha ceremony son and you know how important a Luna is to the pack, she's your equal and the key behind every Alpha's success." I saw that he had more to say so I swallowed the words that I wanted to come out of my mouth.

"If you haven't found your mate before the ceremony I'm afraid we'll have to postpone it until you find her." He said solemnly.

I glared at him and clenched my jaw "Listen dad, I get that okay but for you to deny me my birthright is ridiculous, I can run this pack without a Luna until I find one" I stated in a firm tone of voice.

He glared back and went to say something but someone must have mind linked him because his eyes turned red for a moment before he stood up.

"Noah is back" was all he said then left. I followed him out, already getting excited at the thought of seeing Nikki.

We walked to the pack house when suddenly I caught a wiff of the sweetest smelling scent. My wolf perked up and started yelling 'Mate! Mate! Mate!' I struggled with him for a few seconds before he eventually gained full control.

Dad noticed what was happening and a s**t eating grin made it's way on his face. "Well, go find her son"

He didn't need to tell Loki and I twice, we followed the sweet scent all the way around to the main kitchen door at the pack house then I threw the door open breathing heavily and growled "MINE" loudly.

Only then did I notice who my mate was.
