Logan My dad has been relentless in his pursuit of finding me a mate ever since I turned eighteen on Friday. I shook my head at his antics, the man was being ridiculous I mean yeah I knew that I had to find my mate who was gonna be Luna soon because my Alpha ceremony was in less than two months but still, he needed to relax. The disappointment he showed on Friday night when none of the girls turned out to be my mate at the party was pretty bad. I always kind of hoped that Nikki would turn out to be my mate which is impossible because she's human, she would have made a great Luna because of her caring nature and I see how great she is with the kids in the pack. Wolves aren't supposed to feel love for anyone but their mates but what I felt for Nicole was what I assumed love was like, the girl had my stomach in knots and everything, I wasn't sure if it was normal since I've never spoken to anyone about it. Since the day I met her I always felt something for her and was thus fiercely overprotective of her, even my wolf was struck dumb when it came to her, I wondered how this would all change once I've met my mate. I walked into the school doors on Monday morning and could already feel the stares some of the girls were throwing my way, probably hoping that they're my mate. See, werewolves all find their mates after they turn 18, if your mate happens to not have turned 18 yet, you feel a certain pull towards them but will only be 100% sure that they're your mate after they turn 18. I walked straight to the administrations office and ignored the stares I received from some of the girls. "Mrs G." I said with a huge grin as I entered the office. She rolled her eyes at me, "Oh boy no need to try to flirt with me, I already know that you want something, coming in here with that big ol' smile. " she huffed. "Come on now Mrs G, you know I only have eyes for you." I winked and she turned a shade of pink. Mrs G was a nice human lady with grey hair and beautiful brown skin, she was nice to everyone and I always made sure to flirt with her a little. "You sure are a dangerous young fella aren't ya?" I smiled then asked for Nikki and I's schedules. She typed something on the computer then printed it out and handed me the schedules. I scanned over them and like always Nikki and I have the exact same classes but I changed her fifth period from Astronomy to Drama, knowing that she wouldn't want to learn about stars and s**t. I thanked Mrs G then headed to my locker which was next to Nikki's. Okay, so maybe Nicole and I were inseparable and way too attached too one another. My phone rang and I took it out of my pocket then grinned at the picture flashing of Nikki covered in cake from our combined sixteenth birthday party. "To what do I owe this pleasure?" I answer. "Shut up, I just wanted to know how the first day of being a senior was going so far" Nikki replied in that sweet honey voice of hers. "Well, every girl here is looking at me like I'm a chocolate cake and you're not here to tell them to back off so yeah it's going great" I replied my voice dripping with sarcasm. She laughed and I felt it right down to my toes, damn this girl. "Don't worry I'll be there tomorrow wading off those thirsty chicks" she replied, I chuckled at that. "Our schedules are the same yet again this year and I changed an elective on your schedule from Astronomy to Drama. " I told her as I noticed a guy, about 25 years old walking into the teacher's lounge, huh I guess we had a new teacher. "You know me so well." Nikki murmured. "Of course I do. 12 years of friendship ain't no joke Nicholas." I teased "Ah damn I have to go." I said as the bell rang. "Have a good first day, love you!" she said then hung up and I walked to class with a big ass grin on my face.
