Winter's Choice

Chapter 11

After we all grabbed some lunch, baring in mind everything went silent when we entered and people stared. Guess it really is going to change everything now.

We sat at our usual table but with this time Violet joined us, as usual our friend group all arrived to join us, the conversation was all about what had happened and if I had any idea where I was going to apply for land and pack house. 

As I pulled my phone out of my pocket and loaded up the internet, I couldn't help but see the missed call's from my family back home, including my Dad.. Damn thought I'd have at least alittle time before he found out and try's to lobby against me with the council.

"s**t, going to have to do the paper work during lunch, or it might turn into a blood bath between my family" I stated unhappily.

"It's a good thing your doing Winter, not many Alpha's are accepting of different species, much less taking on other people's problem's, plus when people start turning up to apply for your pack, you will be taking on kid's, figuring out housing, food option's aswell as decided on you own law's for the pack." Amy said proudly.

"I know, good job I moved all my own money into a bank account nobody knows about before I came here or I'm sure it would have magically disappeared, I also cleaned my half out of the account Elena and I share, no clue why I suddenly decided to do it, it just felt the right thing to do." I mumbled to myself.

With shifter hearing they could all hear what I said, continuing to the council website, I found my contact's number and rang. Hopefully they are excited about having a new pack under the law of the council for now.

RING RING.

"Alana here, speak."

"Alana, it's Winter, I'm hoping you can speed something through for me before anybody try's to stop it. I want to apply for Alpha of a territory close to the academy, I know nobody want's the responsibility of defending it, and the student's of all race's, I'm prepared to do this, when I have more member's and I will remain on the land and I will also sign the paperwork stating I take on this job, for aslong as I occupy the land. I'm also willing to do it right this second, I only need your approval for this, it is the reason I called you, you always envisioned a united species, I will make that happen as I'm sure somebody has already informed you of my mixed pack." I stated softly to her.

"Ah, Winter, I had heard something and I accept the term's I do have to inform you the pack house with the land is in s**t shape, it will need sorting before anything else, I've already sent the council builder's to the property, but if you wish for it to be finished, you need mage's to get it done faster and they are expensive, but I can contact them and send them right now, if you give me a basic idea of what need's to be built and what else you want on the land. Also, I'm proud of you for breaking away from that family of yours, vile bunch if I do say so." she said firmly.

"I'm guessing the oracle saw this happening, so you sent the squad ahead to get ready, also I will employ mage's, I think I will need the Alpha house to fit, at least 300, I would also request an infant school and medical to be in the area, heck just build a village but have the Alpha house in the middle, I want room for Store's, Park's and a lake to be built, I also want exclusive access to this school for my pack, as I can have all the teenager's learning here, an I can keep better eye on the happening's within the school. Now back to the houses, I would like an apartment complex built for unmated male's, plus one on the other side of the Alpha house for unmated female's, with another 200 houses around them for mated couple's or human's if they decide to move in, I will also want Ward's placed on all these houses, I understand the cost and if you can calculate a number I will transfer it across soon as I'm done with this phone call." I said.

" The total cost is 20million for the building's the equipment for the medical centre, is 3 million, An I will post job's on all the site's for super natural's and human's, I will also include a housing unit for the staff of all establishment's for free, as many need job's, I also just received a list from the council website, asking for referral's to your pack, it has hit 100 so far, seems word is spreading rapidly. If that is everything I will see that it is done within a day, with all request's. Also before I forget the Mage councillor has requested an 1million price for his coven's help with warding and helping with the project, he has guaranteed it will be done within a week atleast." Alana said.

"Thank you, I look forward to working with you, If you will send me a list of the 100 wishing to join, Me and my Beta will look through them, you are more than welcome, to add my listing to the website, including my phone and email for the pack, that will help weed out the untruthful as they have to have a background check done when sending through the application." I stated.

After a few more word's discussing sending the application's and the title of land and Alpha, we ended the call.

Soon as we finished I sent the requested sum to Alana, she could send it to the right people and everything could begin, within second's of finalising the payment, a full list came through of the application's. All neatly set up into group's of race, Mated status, age, an previous pack or rogue plus other family members.

"This is going to be fun, setting up all the place's I need in a village type setting plus then accepting people, we will need to take a few day's off from class to meet with them, we also need a teacher to accompany us while doing this as if they are here to challenge, we will need a witness.. But who would help?" I asked Amy and Violet.

" You need another Alpha for sure, or a leader of a species, but that mean's finding an alliance who agrees with a mixed pack, that will be hard to find, much less allowing rogue's onto the area will cause friction, as nobody can guarantee their behaviour. I also recommend bringing them in species, plus I would bring family's in first with children, they are priority for me" Amy strategized to me.

"I think the King would help, he looked proud of what you had done Winter, maybe he would also provide some security during the meeting, as a royal nobody would dare cause a commotion as it would bring down a full race of shifter's on them, if they managed to insult him" Violet stated.

Thinking it over I couldn't help but see both point's from both Amy and Violet, looking around the table I could see, Damien nodding along with Kia, oh, they seemed to be cosy, I couldn't help but notice as he leaned into her ever so slightly and she was doing the same with her body angled towards him. Guess you miss a lot when your busy dealing with bully's.

Pushing up from the table and pulling my tray with me I noticed  everybody staring once again, sighing I turned from my friends and with a wave over my shoulder, I placed my tray back and left the room, headed directly for the king's class, hopefully he's there and I don't have to conduct a man hunt to find the i***t.

As I reached his door I could sense he was still there, pushing the door open his eye's flashed amber as they met my own, approaching the desk I pulled up a chair and sat and continued to assess what kind of mood he was in, an I couldn't help but take in the amazing scent he had, it filled my lung's to capacity.

"I came to inform you, you are now on my pack land, as Alpha here, any punishment's you deem to student's now is run past me if they take place in the school or on the land, also to give you a heads up on I will be taking a few days off along with Amy and Violet as we meet with prospective pack member's over the next few week's, we have over 100 so far, so honestly, the only reason I came was to ask if you would join my pack, in meeting with the people who have applied as your presence will keep order, also rogue's will be coming to this area, inform the pack's they are off-limits to all." I said to him.

" I accept, an I will help you with security for the school while I am here, but as I'm Alpha aswell, I feel I should warn you, not many will accept you as a real Alpha as you are not mated, much less an adult. I know you are powerful as does the school, but to outsider's you will appear as a weak link, I suggest keeping a weapon with you at all time's, life as an Alpha is filled with assassination attempt's by pack member's and other pack's." He stated matter of fact.

"We begin tomorrow, I have already informed for the family's with children to come first, we will meet in the clearing where I first met Violet, it's open and far enough not to cause problem's for the school. Also let it be known a challenge to me, for my title is death, an I wont hesitate to defend it." I said as I got up and walked to the door, with a quick look back I could see the amber had returned which meant his wolf was peaking through, either he had taken it as a challenge or something else was going on. As I passed through the door and turned towards my dorm I couldn't help but hear the faint sound of growling and claws digging into the wood of his desk.

Seem's wolfie wasn't thrilled.
