Winter's Choice

Chapter 6

Upon entering the Class with Amy, All I could see was an obstacle course towards the rear, rows of trap's and the teacher tapping his foot impatiently waiting for us to stop gawking and begin paying attention. "Welcome to fight class, I am your instructor Magnus, Also one of the Vampire King's elite guard, I wont take it easy on you, so don't expect any pleasantry's, some of you will be trained to protect you own Specie's royal line, some will become slave's to other's, or maybe just to join the normal army. Plus don't forget the rogue hunter branch, which is consisted of the world's best fighter's and probably some of your wimp's dreams to be one" He said smugly. I had never really thought about the army or rogue hunter's, as I was a princess and was to ascend to the throne when I was mated and ready. If I had to choose id probably pick Rogue Hunter as they were elite fighter's even more so than Elite royal guard's, they were totally like Ninja's just better!

As I drifted of into my own thought's thinking of which faction I would have chosen, I got a nudge into my ribs I couldn't help but look at the person next to me, who happened to be Amy. " Pay attention Winter, He's picking partner's and rival's to decide which fighter band you fit into!" she whispered to me.

"Sorry I got distracted" I spoke softly and turned back to the front.

"Winter Vs Kayla, Amy Vs Garrick, Damien Vs Kia! That is everybody paired up now find a spot and warm up!" he shouted. As everybody split to warm up, I couldn't help but notice Magnus was staring straight at me as if assessing me, it was unnerving to say the least, after 5 minute's of warm up, he clapped his hand's and asked for the first pair which was over in a blink of an eye, as the rest followed I was slowly getting excited at the prospect of fighting again it had been a few month's since I had a challenge an I hope Kayla proved to be one. As my turn came I entered the Circle and bowed to my opponent which was customary, I couldn't stop the grin from reaching my lip's as I finally realised the person I was to versus it was Lunch room girl, this should be fun, as I continued watching her, I noticed her right leg was twitching, which can be an indicator of which she would attack with first, as I waited for her to attack I kept my gaze zeroed in  on her hand's and leg's waiting for her to give me an indicator, I still bet she attacks with her right leg first...

As if true to my guess she stepped forward into my space and aimed a high kick to my head with her right leg, fast as lightning I raised my right arm to grab her foot as I gripped I squished her bones then used my left leg to sweep her other foot from under her. That quickly I had won the match, all it took was her to telegraph her move's and allow me time to counter.

As she rose, her eyes flashed red and her fang's extended as she snarled at me.

"Put the baby fang's away, you lost fair and square, can't help if you wasn't on my level." I laughed in her face. I just couldn't help it, anybody who couldn't defend themselves should train more, nobody want's to be a slave, but it happens.

As the minute's ticked by Amy stepped forward to fight Garrick, Amy unfortuantly lost but not due to her own merit, it seemed Alpha's Wolves also had extra strength when fighting which gave an advantage to Garrick, If he was normal, Amy would have surely won as her technique was excellent, she just lacked the strength of an Alpha.

Next in line was Damien Vs Kia, this was going to be interesting as Kia was a quiet type but I bet she uses that to her advantage, she speaks up when she believes in something strongly, an people tend to take notice.

Damien immediately started laughing and smiling at the rest of his friends, like this was a big joke, typical male, while Kia was assessing him head to toe, finding weak point's, as the teacher said the word's Go, she immediately attacked to not give Damien a chance, she went right for his pressure point's like a pro, I didn't need to with Kayla, I knew I could drop her on her ass,  Kia was using all the advantage's she was given that's a fact! As Damien recovered from his shock at her immediate attack, he took a defensive stance ready for what she had next, but with pressure point's on a shifter, they hurt ALOT, as Kia geared up for more she telegraphed her move, an I could tell Damien had noticed. As soon as she attacked he raised his arm to deflect the hit, but she spun and used her right leg to take his leg's from beneath him, in that moment all I could hear was a growl.

"MINE" Damien Growled, Uh oh, another mating, which was rare to find as you never knew until your shifter nature took over and declared it, plus different specie's mating's were frowned on by some, AKA VAMPIRES AND WOLVES DUH.

As I continued to assess Damien, his eye's were glowing and he was not in control of himself, Kia looked terrified as Damien stood and began to approach, quickly I dashed in between them an placed my hand on Damien's chest to keep him at bay, not smart probably.

"Stop Damien, your scaring Kia" I yelled at him.

As he jerked away from me and Kia I could tell he was fighting for control of his own body, wolves' had very short temper's and had to learn control from a young age, no wolf was ever more out of control than with a mate, so I'd read in my parent's vast amount of book's.

The teacher stepped forward and stated "Class is over for today, Leave, except Kia, you can stay for awhile and talk" he stated.

Soon as we all gathered our thing's to leave Damien had already dashed out the door and probably already outside.

I walked up to Amy and said "wow fun first day, an another pairing, wonder what will happen" I said softly, I couldn't help but be envious despite how terrified Kia looked, If I had found my mate early I never would have been forced into an arranged mating by my parent's.

"Yeah, but she's not happy at all, she's different to him being a dark witch, I bet it's just shock honestly and I hope she's happy if she doesn't decide to reject him." she said regretfully. 

As we continued out the door I took a quick glace back to see Kia speaking to Magnus, she was using a lot of hand gesture's that was for sure.
