“Alpha. No!”
A voice stopped me…
I slowly turned my head to face Beta Marsh, though my hands were still tightly wrapped around the man’s neck.
“No need to kill him..” he stepped forward. “Southern kingdom breached into our lands and that warrants a confrontation at the least…”
A confrontation.. that’ll easily turn into a war if I don’t get what I want.
The seconds ticked by as the tension in the room remained thick and palpable.
Then—
I released him as he dropped to the floor nearly lifeless…
He was desperately choking for air.
Then I faced Marsh. “Ready the men we have…and send for my horses.”
I walked past them till I arrived at the door. “We march for the Southern Kingdom by first light.”
With that I left…
