Leah drove fast, her grip tight on the wheel. The city lights blurred past her, but her mind was sharper than ever. If Nico was calling her like this, it meant things had gone from bad to worse. When she arrived at his penthouse, she didn’t bother knocking. She pushed the door open and found him standing by the window, a drink in his hand. He didn’t turn around. “They’re onto us.” Leah closed the door behind her. “Be specific.” Nico finally faced her, his expression dark. “Julian Caldwell doesn’t like people who change their minds. If we don’t handle this right, we won’t get a second chance.” She exhaled slowly. “Then we hit first.” Nico arched a brow. “You make it sound simple.” “It is,” Leah said. “Caldwell thrives on power. Take that away, and they fall.” Nico studied her. “And how exactly do you plan to do that?” She smirked. “By playing their game better than they do.” Meanwhile… In a dark office across the city, Julian Caldwell received a new report. A smirk tugged at his lips as he scanned the contents. “So,” he murmured. “They think they can outplay me.” He set the papers down and picked up his phone. “Send her a message. Make it clear—Leah doesn’t get to walk away from this.
