As we study the Fall of the Swords, we want to say, “There—that's the moment Seeking Sword knew he would lead the bandits to victory.” We cannot say that any such moment occurred, however. What we can say is that such moments simply don't occur in history. What happens instead is that a series of events, sometimes distributed across many years, brings about the realization that the Infinite has more in mind than a humble, desultory existence.
