IF TLESSI WAS SURPRISED to see Aalyan under their tree, there was no sign of it on their lined face.
“Is now...” He swallowed, keeping his head up so his voice would carry to where the healer rested on the sturdier branches. “Do you have a moment for me, elder Tlessi?”
The yellowish eyes were faded, but the thinner body was strong enough to climb down in a couple of moves. “Of course, Aalyan.”
“I... I hoped you could... check.” He glanced down at his middle and his eyes refused to come back up. His face was burning up and his heart was pounding, but he stayed, waiting.
