Losing Lizzy

×BLAKE× "Stop!" I shouted in a panic. My eyes darted between the man with the scar and the man with the bleeding nose. "Don't shoot him." I pleaded. Lizzy was standing dead still near the door. Jordan hadn't even shown his face. The man with the scar turned his face to me, a crooked smile on his lips, "Ah, now you want to listen." "No, I want you to get out of my bar and never return. But since you're being a coward, I'm forced to play by your rules." "My rules? You've knocked my little brother senseless. And you've probably given my cousin a concussion. If you were playing by my rules, you'd be dead." "What do you want?" He laughed, "I wanted to go about my business without any intrusion. But you decided to place yourself in the middle of my-" his voice trailed off as he frowned, his eyes darting behind me, "You own the bar?" I knew he was looking at the picture behind the bar. "I do." He dropped the gun onto the table. I frowned as I watched him take off his jacket and roll up the black sleeves of his shirt. "What are you doing?" "Humoring you." He responded with a smirk. The other two I'd hit were getting to their feet. "Danny, Enzo, stand down." I was still frowning at him, unsure of what was going on. "Santino?" One of the men seemed just as confused as I did. "If you can get passed me, you're free to go." "I'm not your hostage." My eyes went to Lizzy, she was sneaking out. There was a noise from my office and we all spun to look. I could only assume that Jordan was trying to break the safe open again. "I have to deal with this." I turned to go into the back. The man with the scar grabbed hold of my arm, keeping me in place. "Danny, deal with it." I swatted his hand off of me, shooting him a glare. Everything went downhill fast from there. The door clicked as Lizzy escaped and Scar Face, Santino, demanded that Enzo go after her. Danny was the one who looked more like him. I made a move to run after Enzo, but Santino blocked me. "Look who I found," Danny announced as he came back with Jordan. Shit. Jordan's eyes were wide with fear. But I still didn't add it up. Santino crossed his arms over his chest, "Jordan. Fancy meeting you here." "I'm getting your money." I scoffed, "Not from my bar, you're not." Santino lifted the gun from the table, "Well, you're lucky," he turned to the man he had originally wanted to shoot, "Go back to your family and tell them that time is ticking." He turned back to Jordan who was standing beside me. Oh. Oh! "This is Saint?" I whispered. Jordan gave a curt nod. Well, s**t. Santino looked between the two of us, "Let me guess, the two of you are in love." Jordan nodded while I scrunched my face up. We were on and off in our relationship if you could even call it that. "She looks like she disagrees," Santino observed with a smirk. I went to take a seat but Danny stopped me. Now that there wasn't a hostage, and I knew Lizzy would get help, I was feeling brave again. I punched him in the face. He took a step back before punching me right back and the force sent me to the floor. I noticed that Jordan barely noticed. Santino roughly pulled me to my feet and shoved me onto a chair. My face hurt where Danny had punched me and I could feel the tingling in my head. "Where's my money, Jordan?" Santino asked. "She has a safe, it has money in it," Jordan responded. "f**k you!" I shouted at him, infuriated that he wanted to use my money to settle his debts. Santino clicked his fingers at Danny who immediately went into the back. "Is it enough to cover all of your debt?" Santino asked. Jordan looked at me as if waiting for an answer. I spat at him and attempted to get up, but Santino's hand clamped onto my shoulder keeping me down. "I don't know. But I'm trying to get it." Jordan's voice held a pleading tone to it and I almost laughed at him. The door swung open and Enzo returned, dragging a kicking and screaming Lizzy with him. Shit. "Lizzy!" I jumped to my feet. Santino stepped in front of me, "Sit down." "Don't hurt her. Please." He kept his gaze on mine, a coldness in them as he spoke, "Enzo. Kill her." "No!" I screamed, trying desperately to get passed Santino. But he held me in place. Lizzy's eyes went wide right before Enzo snapped her neck effortlessly. It took me a moment to realize the screams were coming from me. Lizzy's body dropped to the ground. Her wide empty eyes stared out at nothing. I gasped for air as the tears streamed down my face and my body became weak. My knees gave way from under me and I fell to the floor in a sobbing mess. Santino's voice was echoing around me, but I couldn't process what he was saying. All I could think of was the fact that Lizzy was dead. The bang of the gunshot brought me out of my trance and I looked up to see Jordan's leg gushing blood. They shot him. Santino tucked his gun away, "This isn't a game, Jordan. I expect my money." "You'll get the money!" He shouted back. "Get up," Santino spoke, but I was stuck to my spot. My body couldn't move. He nudged me hard with his foot, "Get up!" I still didn't move. He leaned down and pulled me to my feet. "I'm not going anywhere with you." As much as I tried, the fight in me died with Lizzy. I had witnessed a lot, but never a murder. He pulled me closer and I could smell the cigarettes and whiskey on his breath as he spoke, "You say that as if you have a choice."
