Her body is there laying motionless, her eyes are open staring at nothing. I don’t know why I am the one to find my own mother dead after the rouge attack. I flinch back as my father collapses to his knees clutching his lifeless mate to his chest screaming. No one had ever seen this ruthless alpha so broken. Their Luna was dead.
“It’s your fault! You’re weak! Pathetic!” He growls looking at me like I was the one to kill her. I stumble back in utter shock, she had told me to hide no matter what. He looks at me with pure hatred growling at me to leave.
I scramble away from everyone even those trying to console me as tears are streaming down my face. Her emerald eyes flash in my mind, she’s my comfort. Subconsciously I run for the boarder going to seek her out.
I growl as Greg, my fathers Beta, grabs my arm stopping me. “You can’t go after the human girl Vincent.” He says seriously somehow knowing that’s where I was headed. “Go home.” He gently shoves me back towards the pack house.
My father turns into a shell of who he use to be. I was to be formed into the man he needed me to be. Emotionless and Ruthless all the things mother instilled in me was wiped away that summer along with her. Human were weak and pathetic and were to have nothing to do with our kind.
Anytime I let emotion show the beating afterwards became less and less worth it. Mothers pureness was stripped away as I became who my father wanted.
All I can feel coursing through my veins is rage seeing her here. She looks beautiful the blue dress hugged her body perfectly. The darker eyeshadow makes her eyes pop but she didn’t belong here. She was a hunters daughter, we’d caught her father setting up traps. Amanda’s snickering adds to the rage as I see her look at me with betrayal and hurt. It’s like a gut punch seeing the tears forming before Lucas throws her over his shoulder jumping in the pool. When she doesn’t immediately resurface I take a step closer until Amanda slender hand grips my hand stopping me. Lucas yanks her up and she immediately slaps him. If only she knew she just slapped the best warrior I had, he looks at her shell shocked throwing her out of the pool.
My laugh vibrates my chest to stop my urge to go to her before I lock lips with Amanda. I wait until her heart beat is receding before pulling back slightly disgusted. ‘Going for run’ I grumble through the pack mind link. I keep my distance from her just making sure she got off the territory without any detours. She’s trying to muffle the sobs erupting from her chest as she runs. She moves quicker than I would’ve expected.
I somehow end up in front of her and she doesn’t see me until she collides with my chest. I grip her upper arms gently, my heart racing painfully with her so upset. I stare down at her, before my head snaps to the side. “Go to hell!” She screams trying to shove me away.
I wiggle my jaw in utter shock, she slapped me. With a growing ache in my jaw I shove her back growling as Kade, my wolf slips forward “pathetic”
He would not take treatment like that from a human. Making me realize how close to midnight it was. ‘Rogues!’ Someone growls through the link. I rush away from her not wanting to lose control and needing to help the others. I get far enough away before shifting. I stagger for a moment feeling slightly off after which doesn’t usually happen. ‘Stupid human’ I think to myself rushing towards the boarder the rouges were spotted. My wolf abruptly stop turning back towards her.
‘What are you doing? The pack needs us!’ I growl at him furious he was turning back. The closer we get the more panicked he becomes. I see her crawling away the fear radiates from her along with blood. We jump over her growling at the rouge that has shifted. I can see her blood coating his fingers looking almost satisfied. I growl darkly before kade attacks him. I bite and snap his leg as he keeps trying to advance to her.
Kade looks back at her hearing her whimper scared giving the rogue the opportunity to vanish. I sniff the air trying to get his scent but there’s nothing there besides the smell of her blood. Kade gives me back control as I look at her, pure panic. Her back is scratched to hell and bleeding profusely. Kade pushes to help her. I glance up people were coming. I shake my head violently knowing help was coming. Kade growls violently at me as I leave her there.
The warriors with the aid of my father kill the rest of the rogues. It was a planned assault as they attacked different sides of the territory. I emerge in the clearing where everyone was gathered shaking out the dirt and blood in my fur I push the urge to shift back. I growl darkly as I’m left with a radiating pain through my skull but no shift happens.
Everyone stares in shock and concern except my father. He huffs angrily, coming close growling using his alpha command “Shift!”
Every fiber tries to obey the command but it just results in pain. I’m laying on my side panting in pain when a figure emerges from the trees. “Owen, I told you this was to come of your son if you didn’t change your way. I warned you years ago if your cruelness didn’t change you’d lose your son.” She spits at my father as he’s barely controlling his wolf.
“I am sorry child. But you are just as cruel as your father maybe even worse. I am sorry this is your fate, you are to be bound to this form unless it is a full moon only than will you be in human form. But you will not look like your handsome self, you’ve seen the world through a broken Lens treating others horridly just because they were different. Now it is you who will be different. Only someone who can see past the monster you’ve become can set you free.” She says kneeling in front of me before resting a hand on my forehead. Kade tries to move to kill her beyond enraged only to bite air. She was gone.
