Aaron remained unconscious for three full days.
When he finally opened his eyes, he saw Serena by the bedside, crying as if her soul had been shattered.
“Alpha Aaron!” she gasped and threw herself into his arms the moment he woke up.
Aaron stared blankly at the ceiling, his gaze empty, his entire being hollowed out.
It all felt like a nightmare he couldn't wake from.
“Where’s Evelyn? Did you find her?” he asked hoarsely, his voice rough like sandpaper, every syllable tearing at his throat.
