Getting a meeting with Marcus wasn't exactly easy, but it wasn't impossible for Elmer either.
Sure enough, soon after Marcus left the main hall, Elmer received a text. He quickly took Melanie to meet Marcus outside by the parking lot.
Marcus saw them approach and raised his eyes in acknowledgment.
Melanie stopped. "Professor..."
Marcus gave a brief "Mhm," his voice measured.
"I looked at your exhibit. It's above the pass line... but," his gaze swept over both of them, "three years later, is this truly all you could manage?"

Elmer quickly replied, "The new version is already in development. We can show a prototype next year."
