It took me hours to get to sleep after the doctor and healer finished with me. What they had discovered was now going up the chain of command to the elders. They were the ones with the knowledge of what it all could mean. There wasn’t much left to do but wait. Killian had advised me to get some rest and with that came a knowing look at Willa to watch over me. He knew he didn’t need to ask or tell.
I lay awake for hours, tossing and turning. My mind was reeling from what happened and I couldn’t shake the pain I was feeling in my chest. Likely due to Artemis being gone. I hoped that when I woke up the next morning she would be there. But the issue was getting to sleep in order for that to happen.
