Chapter 2

"Uhh, what the hell just happened?" my dad asked when he finally held his balance. "Honey, I think she just jumped," my mom says, her shocked expression never changing. "When did you learn to jump, Marce?" my dad asked, just as shocked. "Um, four years ago?" I say, trying to brush it off. "Four years?" They shouted at the same time. "Now's not the time, we need to get somewhere safe." I said, trying to change the subject. "Marcy, Honey, get to the bunker, jump there. Your dad and I need to go and investigate what happened. The clan leader has already summoned me and I'm sure the Alpha called for your dad." my mom says in a serious tone. I wanted to protest but I knew there was nothing I could do. My parents are the two strongest fighters in the city. Probably in the world, next to the two kings. My dad was born a Beta and was offered the Beta position when Alpha Black took over, but he turned it down, not wanting the extra responsibility. My mom came from the most powerful clan in the world. They were all specialists and had abilities beyond that of a normal vampire. She said they were all born to be generals and to assist other clans when the King called for it. But then she fell in love with my dad and left her clan to be with him. Cassius, the former clan leader in this city, was more than happy to welcome my mom into his clan, being that she was the top general in her home clan. But being the best of the best is not always great. They were always so busy, and always had to be on the front lines when things went wrong in the city. "Let me go with you." I protested. "No sweetie. It's too dangerous." My dad said sternly. "And you and mom trained me well. And I was the top fighter in my class," I shot back. I didn't tell them how that put a target on my back for kids who wanted revenge. "Marcy, this is not up for discussion," he scolded. "If you don't let me come, I'll just jump there on my own." I said, not backing down. "You know I will." He wiped his hand down his face before sighing. "Fine, but you better stay close, and if it gets too dangerous, you jump to the bunker." "Deal," I said, satisfied with the outcome. "We need to get going, Viktor is getting impatient." My mom rushed. "Marce, do you need blood? You jumped a far distance to bring your father here." She asks, pulling out the bag of blood she keeps in her corset. How that thing fits, I have no idea. "No, Mom. I'm fine. I can go a while without," I said as I grabbed Dad's hand, preparing to jump with him so Mom can save her energy. "You say that now. Just wait until you turn 100. Your vampire genes will catch up to you. You may not need as much blood, thanks to your wolf side, but you will need it." She smirked. "Now lets go." "Wait, where are we meeting?" I asked. "Wherever Alpha Black and Viktor are." "Which is?" "I'm not sure yet. We'll figure it out when we get there." When she sees the confused look still on my face, she rolled her eyes and continued. "I swear I don't know what they teach in schools these days. It would have been better to homeschool you." She mumbled. "You don't necessarily have to know where you're going or what it looks like to jump to a place. Although it is the safest way." She paused. "If you don't know where you are going, you can also jump to wherever you need to be by focusing on who it is you are going to see. It's the 3 W rule. You can jump based off who you want to see, where you want to go based on where you have been before, and what has been seen, even if you haven't been before. Although that one is the hardest." "We don't have time for a lesson right now. Sweetheart, just think of Viktor or Alpha Black and jump." my dad said, with little patience in his voice. Viktor is the current clan leader, and I didn't care too much for him. So I closed my eyes and thought of Alpha Black. I always liked him and harbored a secret crush on him. He was the only wolf, besides my dad, who didn't treat me like the scum of the Earth. He didn't necessarily treat me like a princess either. He treated me just like he treated everyone else. Occasionally, he would show a softer side of himself to me, though I know it was because he respected my father so much and he knew what people thought of me. Regardless of his reasons, I held onto those precious moments. I know its foolish to like the Alpha in that way. He had a mate, and a son and he was way older than me, but I couldn't help myself. We landed right in front of Alpha black and I lost my footing, causing me to face plant right into his chest. My dad quickly grabbed me and bared his neck to Alpha Black. "My apologies Alpha, this is Marcy's first time jumping to someone." "It won't happen again, Alpha. I'm sorry," I quickly added, and bared my neck in submission. "What the hell?" Alpha Black said, sounding surprised. "When did you learn to jump?" "Umm, I found out by accident a few years ago. Although my parents just found out minutes ago," I said quietly. "Interesting. I didn't know you would develop that ability, being a hybrid?" He says, almost shocked. "Neither did I, Alpha," I said. "Any wolf abilities?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "It's hard to tell. I'm not 18 yet, so I don't know if I will have a wolf. And my speed, sight, hearing and sense of smell could be from either side, since both werewolves and vampires have those heightened senses." I said and bared my neck again. "Hmm, well, you still have a couple of months until your birthday. Let me know if you have a wolf. There's nothing better than having an annoying mutt yapping at you nonstop in your head" he says sarcastically, making me smile and hide my blush. Alpha Black turned towards where Viktor and my mom were standing and my dad and I followed. I listened closely, trying to figure out what happened at the graduation party while also trying not to seem like I was eavesdropping. From what I could gather, Alpha Black's son, Devyn, found his mate at the party. It was just after midnight when the Gamma's daughter, Erica Bates, turned 18 and found out that Devyn was her mate. There was a big fight between Devyn and the future Beta, Jason, because Erica and Jason had been dating for the past 3 years. It sounded like a whole lot of unnecessary drama to me, but then something caught my attention. One of the guards reported that some students noticed a dark shadowy figure hovering over a distraught Erica, before a bomb went off in the center of the party. Luckily, no one died, but some students were seriously injured, and those who didn't have their wolf yet had to be hospitalized. I froze in my spot. Could it be the same shadowy figure I saw at the willow? Was it intending to harm me? "Honey, did you see anything?" My dad asked, taking me out of my thoughts. "Huh? No I wasn't at the party," I stated, looking away. "Then where were you?" My dad asked, crossing his arms. "Um, the forest?" "So did you hear the bomb go off? Was there more than one?" Alpha Black asked, ignoring the glare my dad was giving me. "Um. No I didn't hear the bomb go off." I answered honestly. "If you were in the forest you would have heard the bomb. Where the hell were you if you weren't at the party and obviously not in the forest?" My dad roared at me. "Rey, you can deal with that later. Right now, we need to figure out who is behind this bombing and what that shadow was." Alpha Black said. My dad gave me a disappointed look before turning his back to listen to what Viktor had to say. My heart broke. I had never seen my dad so angry and disappointed before. I just hope he can forgive me.
