Jame's POV
Every muscle in my body clenched at those words. Marcy was to sit on the throne. But how? How did he know that Marcy was the hybrid he was speaking of? I needed to know more. Most of all, I needed to know how he knew all of this when no one else knew?
"Where did you hear this? And why have I never heard of this before?" I demanded.
"Cassius has lived a long time. As you can imagine, vampires are basically immortal, to an extent. He was present when the witch made her promise to reawaken," David admitted.
"And what makes you so sure that Marcy is the hybrid that will sit on the throne?" I asked.
"The prophecy was clear. The hybrid will possess the full abilities of both a vampire and a werewolf. Most vampire's abilities don't mature until they are 100 years old. Like wolves, they do possess some abilities early on, such as the ability to jump and enhanced senses."
"Okay?" I said, not really getting where he was going with this.
"Marcy has a wolf. When she turned 18, I asked her if she had a wolf and she told me she didn't. I was disappointed at first because that meant she was not the hybrid from the prophecy. At the same time, I was glad that she wouldn't have to take on that burden. But then, she came home today and told me she had a wolf, Gaia." He said with a sad smile.
"Gaia? As in the Goddess of the Earth?" I asked, my interest sparked.
"I'm not sure if there is a real connection, but based on the prophecy, the hybrid would be blessed. Maybe the Moon Goddess blessed Marcy with Gaia, the Goddess of the Earth. It would make sense seeing how green her eyes are," he stated.
"What do you mean?"
"Marcy had always had dark brown eyes. I was taken aback when I saw her with green eyes today. She claimed it was from the potion she took to mask her scent while at a human school," he says, making me think.
"That can't be right. She had green eyes when I met her. Her scent was strong, not hidden. Even the gate agent could sense her," I said.
Thinking about it now, I couldn't sense Marcy when I was walking up to the door of the office. Even when I held her, her scent was weak. It was there, but definitely not as strong.
"I was thinking the same thing. No scent masking potion would affect the eyes."
I took a second to absorb the information. I had spent too much time in this office and I needed Marcy. I needed to hold her to calm my mind and sort out everything I was just told. I got up and headed towards the door, stopping when David spoke again.
"Please, consider my offer. If Marcy is who I think she is, then she is going to need a strong mate. An Alpha," he said.
"I am an Alpha."
"An Alpha by blood, but not by title. Meaning Marcy would not be regarded as a Luna," David said with a sad expression.
"If she wants to be Luna, I will consider it. But as for now, my answer is no. Besides, it's Devyn's birthright."
David just nodded then handed me a piece of paper with Marcy's address on it. I thanked him and quickly made my way out of the pack house. It was a short walk from the pack house to Marcy's home. I'm assuming that is because her parents were generals and needed to stay close by.
Marcy must have sensed me approaching because before I could knock on the door, it swung open, and she had her arms wrapped around me. My mind instantly calmed down as I hugged her back and chuckled.
"It's about time. I started to think you forgot about me?" She pouts, finally releasing me.
"I'm sorry it took so long," I chuckled. "David sure can talk up a storm."
"I know. He doesn't know when to stop," she laughed, making me smile at the sound. "Come in! Mom made flautas!" she said excitedly, pulling me into the house.
"So glad you can join us, James," Marcy's dad said as we entered the living room.
"Thanks for having me," I said, reaching out and shaking his hand.
"We didn't get to properly introduce ourselves. I'm Rey Lexington, and this is my wife, Marcy's mother, Veronica," he says as Veronica walks into the room with a smile.
"It's nice to meet you both. I'm James Thomas. I'm from the Moon Creek pack on the northern side of the city." I introduced myself.
"Ah yes, you're the current Alpha's brother, right?" Veronica asked me.
"Yes. That would be me."
"Lets have dinner. I made flautas. They are basically rolled tacos," Veronica says, and we all followed her to the dining room.
Dinner wasn't as awkward as I expected it to be. We all talked like we've known each other for years. I did notice, however, the slightly sad look Veronica gave Marcy. It was almost the same one David had when he was talking about the prophecy.
After dinner, Marcy and I excused ourselves as we headed to her room for some privacy. After a couple of hours of talking, I decided to head home. I told Marcy I would be back in the morning to take her out. As much as I wanted to kiss her, I refrained and settled for a hug.
The morning couldn't come soon enough. I couldn't sleep and was tossing and turning all night before deciding to just get up. I planned to spend the whole day with Marcy. From what she told me yesterday, she never really explored the city. Though she grew up here, she never really left pack lands unless she was going to the vampire territory, so she was always on the outskirts of the city.
That's how it was set up here. The packs and the vampire territories were situated on the borders of the city. The main part of the city was neutral territory, which all three packs and the vampire clan helped build. Though it was neutral territory, pack members and clan members were allowed to rent spaces here to set up shop or live if they could afford it.
Most of the wolves and vampires who lived within the neutral part of the city were students who attended the local university and lived on campus. The other residents consisted of supernaturals who didn't want to live within the packs or clan. Witches mostly, but also fairies, warlocks, and wizards lived in the neutral areas.
I had a penthouse in the middle of downtown, overlooking the city. When I took over the company, I moved into the city to be closer to work. Though the truth was, I needed to be away from my family.
As I was finishing up getting ready, I got a call from Marcy. Wasting no time, I quickly answered.
"Hey, I was just getting ready to pick you up. Do you need more time to get ready?" I asked.
"Nope. Are you at home?" She asked.
"Yeah, I haven't left yet."
"Good. Anything near you that can break?" She asked.
"No?" I said as I looked around.
"Perfect," She said before hanging up the phone.
Confused, I was going to call her back when something crashed into me, making me fall and drop my phone. The tingly sensation and warmth that spread throughout my body made me quickly realize that it was Marcy.
Before I could open my eyes to confirm, I felt her soft plump lips meet mine, sending waves of pleasure and warmth throughout my body. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer, deepening the kiss with want and desire, until my lungs burned with the need for air.
I opened my eyes to see the most mesmerizing jade eyes I had ever seen. Marcy was beautiful, that was undeniable. Her long, curly dark hair was covering part of her face, but I could still see the love in her eyes.
"Gaia wants to meet your wolf," she says with a bright smile.
"Right now?" I asked.
"She won't leave me alone about it. Says it's not fair that I get to spend time with you, but she hasn't met your wolf yet," she chuckled.
"Onyx. And he is very eager to meet Gaia," I smiled as Onyx howled happily in my head.
I turned around and stripped out of my clothes and Onyx quickly shifted. We waited patiently until Marcy and Gaia were ready before turning around, but we never heard her shift.
"Onyx, turn around." Marcy said in a soft voice. Onyx started growling softly as he stared at Marcy's naked body.
She was stunning. There was simply no other way to put it. She was a Goddess. Perfect in everyway. It took everything in me to not shift back and take her right then and there. Marcy knew what she was doing as she gave me a soft smile before shifting into Gaia.
Gaia was beyond breathtaking and Onyx was obsessed. Honestly speaking, so was I. I was obsessed with both Gaia and Marcy.
I had never seen a wolf like Gaia before. She was snow-white with black paws. There was a very light green coloring on the tip of her fur that you could only see in the sun. It made her look as if the forest wrapped her in a glowing cocoon. What was even more interesting were her eyes.
Gaia had the same eyes as Marcy. Normally, the wolf counterpart has brown or black eyes. There was only one person on record who had the same eyes as their wolf, and that was the Queen.
