"Why are you here? I thought this was a family event?" Casey said with disdain in her voice, earning a glare from Devyn.
"You're family?" I questioned her.
"I'm Devyn's mate, so that makes me family," she said.
"I didn't know alpha's could be mated to non-ranked members," I mumbled, making James chuckle.
"I'm a beta. I am ranked. And what about you? You're on the arms of an alpha," she pointed out.
"You must forget, I'm a beta by blood. You, on the other hand, have omega blood," I stated, and James pulled me close. "How does your brother feel about you being mated to Devyn? Last I heard, they were fighting over Erica," although I knew the truth, I never passed up the opportunity to get back at her. I guess that's why she always targeted me.
