Season 01, Chapter 06 On Saturday morning, Mrs. Chloé arrives in front of the café at precisely 7 a.m. She sees me waiting, with a weekend bag in hand. I get into her car, feeling anticipation and excitement build within me. Chloé: Good morning, Ethan! Ready for the weekend? Ethan: More than ready. Good morning, Chloé. She smiles at me, and we set off on our getaway. The road out of the city is lined with beautiful scenery, from green fields to rolling hills. Our conversation is light and pleasant, full of laughter. Chloé: I found a small villa with a pool, far from everything. It’ll be good to get away from the city and its hassles. Ethan: Sounds perfect. Chloé: Yes. So, tell me, Ethan. What kind of weekend do you want me to experience? Ethan: Well, I think it should remain a surprise. Chloé: Okay! I can’t wait to experience it. But don’t forget that I have some surprises for you too, even more exciting ones. Ethan: Oh really? We’ll see if they are more exciting than mine. Chloé: I’d like to open an art gallery someday. A place where emerging artists can exhibit their works. Art has always been a big passion of mine. Ethan: That’s a wonderful idea. With your business acumen and passion for art, I’m sure it would be a great success. Chloé: Thank you, Ethan. We finally arrive at the villa, a charming little house surrounded by blooming gardens and featuring a sparkling pool. Chloé: Welcome to our weekend hideaway. We unload our things and enter the villa. The interior is cozy and welcoming, with large windows offering a stunning view of the garden and pool. Chloé: How about starting the day with a dip in the pool? Ethan: Excellent idea. It will wake us up after the drive. We change and meet by the pool. The water is cool and refreshing. We swim, play, and laugh, forgetting the worries of the past week. After our swim, we settle on loungers by the pool. The sun is gentle, and a light breeze brings the scent of flowers. Chloé: Ethan, you know, this weekend is exactly what I needed. A break, an escape. I’ve always dreamed of this. Ethan: I’m glad to share it with you, Chloé. These moments are unique. We stay there, talking about everything and nothing. Chloé tells me stories from her childhood, joyful and nostalgic memories. I tell her about my past adventures, my friends, and my studies. Chloé: It’s crazy how you can feel connected to someone in such a short time. Ethan: Yes, it’s true. I feel the same way. The rest of the morning unfolds in an atmosphere of relaxation and camaraderie. We have a late breakfast on the terrace, enjoying fresh croissants, fruits, and coffee. Chloé: You know, Ethan, I haven’t felt this much joy and peace in a long time. Ethan: I’m happy to hear that. This weekend is going to be really special. You’ll love it. Chloé: Yes, and it’s only just beginning. Ethan? How about a walk in the gardens? They are beautiful. Ethan: With pleasure. We walk hand in hand, exploring every corner of the gardens. The colorful flowers fill the air with their intoxicating scents, and the birds’ songs add a touch of magic to our stroll. Chloé often stops to admire the plants, showing me her favorites. Chloé: Look at these roses, Ethan. They are beautiful. They remind me of my grandmother’s garden when I was a child. Ethan: They are lovely. Wait, let me put this in your hair. Just like this. Chloé: So? How do I look? Ethan: You are gorgeous. Very beautiful. (I say while bowing to her highness) Back at the villa, we decide to prepare lunch together. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, perfect for making a delicious meal. Chloé: I found some interesting recipes. How about trying a mushroom risotto? Ethan: That sounds delicious. But is it really? Let’s find out. We start cooking, working in perfect harmony. Chloé laughs as I struggle with an onion, and I joke about her chef skills. The kitchen quickly fills with appetizing aromas. Chloé: You know, Ethan, I love cooking. It’s so relaxing, especially with good company. Ethan: I’m glad to be part of that company. Cooking with you is really fun. Once the risotto is ready, we sit on the terrace to enjoy it. The view of the gardens and pool is so admiring that I stay observant. Chloé: Hey, Ethan! I’m here. What are you thinking about like that? Ethan: Oh, nothing. Chloé: This risotto is delicious. We make a good team. Ethan: Absolutely. The two of us could open a restaurant. Afternoon In the afternoon, we decide to go for a bike ride around the area. The surrounding countryside is peaceful, with winding roads and breathtaking scenery. Chloé: It’s so soothing to pedal here. It reminds me of my childhood vacations in the countryside. Ethan: Yes, it’s really refreshing. It feels like home. Back there, it’s the mountains, so our roads are hilly. Chloé: Ethan, why have you never told me about your parents? Ethan: Oh, nothing. You never asked. But I’ll tell you another time. I promise! We stop occasionally to admire the view, take photos, and simply enjoy the moment. The feeling of the wind in our hair, the freedom of the open road. Returning to the villa, we decide to relax by the pool. Chloé brings a bottle of wine, and we toast to this perfect weekend. Chloé: To us, and to this magical moment. Ethan: To us. We sip our wine, watching the sun slowly descend on the horizon. The colors of the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink, creating a romantic atmosphere. Chloé: Ethan, I’m really happy to be here with you. This weekend is more than I had hoped for. Ethan: Me too, Chloé. (I say, planting a gentle kiss on her cheek) As night falls, we decide to prepare a light dinner and enjoy it under the stars. The softness of the night, the twinkling lights above us, it was soothing. Chloé: You know, Ethan, I had almost forgotten how important it is to take time for oneself, to reconnect with what really matters. Ethan: I agree. This weekend has reminded me of the importance of the little things, the moments shared. You know? I had never… No, never mind. Chloé: No, tell me. You had never what? Ethan. Ethan: Nothing big. Come on. Chloé was about to get up when I pushed her back down. She was about to yell at me when I kissed her and carried her in my arms. She wrapped her arms around my neck, looking at me with eyes full of longing and feelings. I took her to a cozy corner of the terrace, wrapped in blankets, and we talked for a long time. Chloé shared stories from her past, dreams she had abandoned, and those she still hoped to achieve. I shared my own hopes and fears, my aspirations for the future. Chloé: Ethan, you have a beautiful and generous soul. I’m so lucky to know you. Ethan: It’s mutual, Chloé. You inspire me to be better, to pursue my dreams with more determination. Chloé: Ethan, thank you for this day. It will remain etched in my heart. Ethan: Thank you, Chloé. It’s a moment I’ll never forget. The Next Morning The next morning, we go for a run, a bit of exercise for the good of the body. After returning around nine o’clock, we swim a little, almost an hour or an hour and a half. In the afternoon, Chloé and I decide to visit the farm located a few hundred meters from the villa. Chloé explains on the way that she is friends with the owner, a charming woman passionate about horses. Chloé: You’re going to love this farm, Ethan. The horses are beautiful, and the place is peaceful. Ethan: I can’t wait to see it. We arrive at the farm, warmly welcomed by the owner, Mrs. Dupont. After the introductions, we head to the stables where the horses are prepared for our ride. Chloé chooses a magnificent white horse named Lumière, while I ride a sleek black stallion named Ébène. Chloé: Ready for a horseback adventure, Ethan? Ethan: More than ever. We set off for a ride through the green fields and wooded paths. The afternoon sun bathes the landscape in golden light, creating a magical ambiance. Chloé, always at ease, throws me radiant smiles, clearly happy to share this moment with me. Midway through, Chloé dismounts her horse and hands it over to the man accompanying us. She walks over to my horse and looks at me with a mischievous smile. Chloé: Do you mind if I ride with you? Ethan: Not at all. Hop on. Chloé settles in front of me, my arms wrapped around her waist. The feeling of her proximity is electrifying. We continue our ride, the leisurely pace of our horse allowing us to savor every moment. Chloé: You know, Ethan, horseback riding has always given me a sense of freedom. As if all the constraints of life disappeared. Ethan: I understand what you mean. It’s an incredible feeling. Around 4 p.m., we return to the villa, still enveloped in this happiness. We decide to swim in the pool to cool off after our horseback ride. The water is deliciously refreshing, and we dive in with enthusiasm. Chloé: The water is perfect! Come on, Ethan! We swim, laugh, and play in the water, forgetting all our worries. Chloé never misses an opportunity to kiss me, her lips finding mine with a softness and passion that leaves me speechless. Chloé: I’m so happy to be here with you, Ethan. Ethan: Me too, Chloé. I… She was attentive, but I said nothing and took a dive. We stayed in the pool until the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades. Chloé: Come on, let’s get out of the water and enjoy the sunset. We got out of the pool and settled on lounge chairs, wrapped in towels. Chloé snuggled up against me, her head resting on my chest. We watched the sun disappear over the horizon, savoring this moment of pure tranquility. Chloé: Ethan, thank you for this wonderful day. You make everything so special. Ethan: It’s you who makes this moment special, Chloé. To be continued… Forever mine, author Saint Daniel.
