Season 01, Chapter 07 Night falls gently over the villa, enveloping everything in a peaceful calm. After taking a refreshing shower, I decide to light a fire with the wood I had gathered earlier. The flames crackle joyfully, their dancing glow adding a touch of magic to this already perfect night. Chloé, still in the bathroom, is getting ready leisurely. I arrange various fruits on a plate—juicy strawberries, sweet grapes, and crunchy apples. When Chloé finally emerges from the bathroom, she’s wrapped in a light, transparent robe, revealing the blue hue of her bikini and her perfectly sculpted form. Her still-damp hair cascades over her shoulders. Ethan: You look stunning, Chloé. Come, I’ve prepared something special. Chloé: Thank you, Ethan. What’s the occasion for all this? Ethan: For a beautiful woman, a sweet night in a place we can call a heavenly realm. We settle on the large swing, wrapped in cozy blankets. The stars shine above us, and the gentle night breeze caresses our faces. I take a strawberry and gently bring it to Chloé’s lips, who smiles and bites into it with delight. Chloé: This is delicious. You really thought of everything. Ethan: I think of everything, but mostly your happiness. I wanted this night to be unforgettable. We enjoy the fruits together, laughing and sharing moments of closeness. After a while, I take a romance novel I brought with me and start reading aloud. The story is about true love, of two soulmates who find each other despite obstacles and distances. Ethan: They knew, from the first glance, that they were destined for each other. Their hearts beat in unison, creating a melody that only they could hear. Chloé snuggles up against me, listening intently to every word. Her eyes shine with emotion, and I feel that this moment is as precious to her as it is to me. We stay like this, lulled by the rhythm of the words and the gentle sway of the swing. Chloé: This story is beautiful, Ethan. Thank you for reading it to me. Ethan: It’s one of my favorites. It reminds me that true love exists, that it is patient and unshakeable. Chloé: Do you believe in that kind of love, Ethan? Ethan: Yes, I do. And you, Chloé? Chloé: I’m starting to believe… because of you. The fire crackles softly at our feet, the stars continue to shine above us, and everything seems in perfect harmony. We stay like this, wrapped in each other’s arms, until fatigue begins to set in. Before we fall asleep, Chloé whispers softly in my ear. Chloé: Thank you for this day, Ethan. You made this weekend magical. I love you. Ethan: The pleasure is all mine, Chloé. Good night. Chloé: Good night, my dear Ethan. The next morning, the first rays of sunlight filter through the villa’s curtains, signaling a new day. Chloé and I wake up slowly, still nestled together on the swing. The memory of the previous night wraps us in a warm glow, and we smile tenderly at each other. Chloé: Good morning, Ethan. Did you sleep well? Ethan: Yes, very well. And you? Chloé: Like a baby. Thank you for everything, truly. We get up and prepare a light breakfast with croissants, orange juice, and scrambled eggs. The fresh morning air and the birds’ songs create a peaceful and joyful atmosphere. After breakfast, we decide to make the most of this last day together. Chloé: What do you think about taking a walk in the forest? There is a beautiful trail just behind the villa. Ethan: That sounds perfect. We dress in comfortable clothes and set off to explore the surrounding forest. The trail winds through the trees, and nature offers us a stunning show. The leaves rustle under our feet, and the scent of wildflowers fills the air. We walk hand in hand, sharing secrets and laughter. Chloé: I love this place. It’s so calm and relaxing. Ethan: Yes, it’s wonderful. I’m really glad we came here. After our walk, we return to the villa to freshen up before diving back into the pool. The water is still delightful, and we spend a long time swimming and playing. Chloé kisses me often, her affection sincere and spontaneous. In the afternoon, we decide to visit the farm again for one last horseback ride. Chloé insists that we ride together this time, and I can only agree with joy. We ride slowly through the fields, golden under the afternoon sun, savoring every moment. Chloé: Ethan, I have never felt so much happiness. Ethan: Me too, Chloé. Every moment with you is a treasure. As the sun begins to set on the horizon, we return to the villa and prepare for our last dinner. Chloé has brought special ingredients to cook a gourmet meal. We spend the evening cooking together, laughing, and savoring the delicious dishes we have prepared. After dinner, we settle again by the fire, wrapped in a blanket. Chloé rests her head on my shoulder, and we stay silent, enjoying each other’s presence. Chloé: I wish this moment would never end. Ethan: Me too. But no matter what happens, we will always have these memories. Chloé: Thank you, Ethan. For everything. Ethan: I should be the one thanking you, Chloé. The next morning, we prepare to leave the villa. With heavy hearts but filled with happiness and joy, we share one last knowing glance before getting into the car. Chloé: Ready to go home, Ethan? Ethan: Yes. Ready for new adventures. We leave the villa, carrying with us the unforgettable memories of this weekend. On the way back, the previously clear sky suddenly becomes covered with dark clouds. A torrential rain begins to fall, turning the road into a slippery, muddy terrain. The windshield wipers struggle to keep up with the drops, and visibility is reduced to almost nothing. Ethan: What a rain! I’ve never seen something so sudden. Chloé: I know, it’s incredible. Be careful on the road. We proceed cautiously, but despite our efforts, a tire of the car sinks into a puddle of mud. The car is immobilized, and the wheels spin uselessly. Ethan: We’re stuck. We’ll have to get out and find help. Chloé: Okay. There’s a hotel not far from here; we could try to take shelter there. We get out of the car, the pounding rain soaking us within seconds. Laughing at the absurdity of the situation, we run through the rain, our clothes sticking to our skin, until we reach the hotel. Soaked and out of breath, we enter the lobby and head to the reception desk. Ethan: Good evening. We had a problem with our car and we are drenched. Could we have a room for the night, please? Receptionist: Of course, we have a room available. Here’s the key. Have a good night. We thank the receptionist and quickly head to our room. Once inside, we get rid of our wet clothes to avoid catching a cold. Chloé puts on a bikini she had in her bag, while I find a dry pair of shorts. Chloé: We really look like a mess… It’s like we’ve just come out of a swimming pool. Ethan: True. At least we can laugh about it. Our eyes meet and we burst into laughter, the situation both absurd and joyous. Still laughing, we collapse onto the bed, exhausted from our run in the rain. Lying next to each other, we keep laughing until fatigue takes over. Chloé: I’ve never had an adventure like this. Ethan: Me neither. It’s a memory I’ll never forget. And to think I’m living it with the one I… Chloé: Good night, Ethan. Ethan: Good night, Chloé. Without even realizing it, we quickly fall asleep, Chloé first. We fell asleep exhausted but happy. The rain continues to pour outside, but inside, everything is calm and peaceful. The next morning, we wake up with the first rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains. The rain has stopped, leaving behind a pleasant freshness and a still-wet landscape. Chloé and I exchange a knowing smile. Ethan: Did you sleep well? Chloé: Yes, surprisingly well. And you? Ethan: Same here. We should hurry back to town; our car is still stuck in the mud. Chloé: You’re right. Let’s go. I’ll call the mechanic. We quickly get dressed and go down to the reception to check out. After thanking the receptionist, we leave the hotel and head to the nearest bus stop. We learn that a bus will be passing by soon, but we need to run to catch it. Ethan: Come on, Chloé! We have to hurry! Chloé: I’m coming! We run across the still-wet street, laughing at our morning rush. We arrive at the bus stop just in time to see the bus approaching. Breathless but smiling, we get on and find two seats side by side. Chloé: That was close. I didn’t think I’d be running so much this weekend. Ethan: That’s for sure, I didn’t expect it either… But I don’t regret anything. I’m happy to have experienced it with you, Chloé. Chloé: (Smiles) The bus starts, and we use the journey to rest a bit. The road is peaceful, and the scenery passes gently by the windows. Chloé rests her head on my shoulder, and we stay like that, enjoying the moment. Chloé: Ethan, thank you for this weekend. It has been incredible. Ethan: I should be the one thanking you, Chloé. Every moment with you has been filled with love. I’ll never forget it. Chloé: We should plan more getaways like this. Maybe without the part where the car gets stuck in the mud. Ethan: Yes, good idea, but that part was the most interesting. I’ll always be up for it if you’re with me. Arriving in town, we get off the bus and head to a garage. We leave a message for a tow truck to take care of the stuck car and get into a taxi to go home. Ethan: Ready to go back? Chloé: No, but time has caught up with us. It went by so fast. Let’s return to reality, but with wonderful memories in our minds. Ethan: You know, Chloé, I often think about what you said, about living each moment to the fullest. That’s exactly what we did. Chloé: Yes, and that’s what makes these moments so precious. True happiness for me is spending time without counting it with someone you love and who loves you in return. A mutual love… a bit like yours. Arriving at the building where I live, we exchange one last knowing glance before getting out of the car. Chloé briefly squeezes my hand before heading back to her own life. Chloé: Have a good day, Ethan. Ethan: You too, Chloé. See you soon. With a smile and a radiant heart, I later head to the café, ready to face the day with memories full of joy and a heart full of joy. To be continued… Forever mine, by Saint Daniel.
